Was there in June and I was surprised at the range — very formal evening gowns to t-shirts and shorts. Either of those stood out, not in a good way. Most dressed like going out for a nice dinner: Men wore suitjackets and pants (NOT jeans), ties were 50-50. Women nearly all wore a nice dress with either jacket or cardigan. Scarves, always. Remember that France is conservative so quality materials and little skin. Have fun!

Hey there, we booked a guided tour on the day at the Palace of Versailles. We arrived early in the morning to the palace, booked the guided tour and we just had to wait in this room for about 15 minutes. The Royal Opera part of the tour was towards the end.

Le confort des chaises des loges du balcons Royal sont acceptables pour un spectacle d'une heure, une heure et demie mais pas pour une soirée de 3h30 comme celle du Ballet Royal de la nuit, qui, de plus est ennuyeux. La musique Baroque du 17 ème n'est, à mes yeux, pas mise en valeur par une scénographie plus proche du cirque que du ballet.
