It is an association that takes care of this museum...rich in souvenirs...objects and toys are on display....in addition they offer workshops-demonstrations where children can participate 👍 and finally a playground ...

Museum not to visit.
This museum is a pile of toys from 1900 to the present day stored without reflection neither historical nor societal in a room converted supermarket shelves... not pleasant.
The tour begins with an explanation to all children of the principle of separating girls’ and boys’ toys with nostalgic details of that good time when everything was not mixed up.
The toys are then presented "here is a spring automaton" for example, and we watch the stuffed animal move. No dated or contextualized approach in terms of social class, quality, regions of France or Europe access to these toys. No approach to the number of toys a child could have, confusion between children's toys and adult modeling.
The point that could be a positive encounter between the elderly who animate the museum and the children who visit it is not exploited, the positioning is very top down and no sharing of lived experience... Without much change and input from a professional outside eye, this museum will remain less interesting than browsing a flea market, whose entry is not at 20€/family.

Nous vous rappelons que nous ne sommes que des bénévoles, sans aide financière ni de la Mairie, ni du Département ; ce qui explique nos vitrines type supermarché. Mais en effet, nous aimerions nous améliorer avec plus de moyens !
Vous demandez des anecdotes ; il me semble que celle de la séparation des Jouets filles/garçons en est une !
Certains objets sont datés mais nous n'avons pas les moyens d'avoir un conservateur pour nous superviser.
Quand au partage d'expériences, nos guides sont pourtant ravis de parler de leur enfance.
Pour finir, ce n'est pas dans une brocante que vous allez pouvoir jouer sur un circuit routier, voir des trains d'époque fonctionner, comprendre le fonctionnement de bateaux PopPop ... et profiter d'une salle de jeux avec babyfoot, flipper et jeux en bois pour enfants.

More than 2 hours of happiness and especially back in childhood. This museum is simply a little wonder for young and old. I had the chance to be accompanied by one of the volunteers who not only explains the different parts of the museum but also tells you many stories about the toys present. We could stay there for a day, it's magic. Congratulations to these enthusiasts!!!

Must-see in Montauban for all those who want to find their child’s soul. Passionate amateurs guide you through this magnificent collection and its history. A play area is even available for children (young and old).

Incredible atmosphere, very well received by staff who even distribute candy for children, the museum is run by volunteers who really know their subjects well. I strongly recommend it 😜!

Beautiful collection of toys from all eras for girls and boys. A passionate and exciting Guide tells you the story of the toy from the little lead soldiers to the mechanic. Visit that will allow you to dive back into your childhood memories. Thanks to the President of this museum who knew how to transport us in the past and who had the idea to create this beautiful museum. Not to be missed if you pass through Montauban.
