This place is utterly beautiful but not for the faint hearted. We went to Mont Blanc by coach (Flixbus) and paid for the cable car up to The Void, the lady at the front selling tickets was lovely, as were most of the staff on the ground. The ride up is so high your ears pop!! It was Valentines Day (14th Feb) so it was a bit busy on the cable cars, but well organised. As we approached The Void, the staff of two men letting people in the clear box to take pictures were very rude, and kept telling us to hurry up, even though walking in the slippers that are provided aren’t very easy to walk in and it is unnerving. They rushed us whilst we took photos saying “Hurry up, there is a queue” but they hadn’t said this to anyone else, including the Swiss couple ahead of us who took ages posing and taking pictures. It was embarrassing and ruined our time, considering how much we paid and how long we waited for the experience. The staff particularly these two, need customer service training and should treat everyone equally, or not be in the role.

It is a cabinet made from glass protruding from the mountain hanging high in the air more than 3800 m many people will find it amazing and fantastic but for me it was scary.

With my vertigo I thought this would be too challenging plus the idea of standing on a bit of glass above a 3,000 foot drop...
But it was great fun and amazing. So well done.It was quiet but we still waited 30 mins for our turn - only 1 or 2 people are allowed at one time.
Had to take shoes off, put slippers on, leave bags and cameras.The guy then took my camera and phone and took movies of us plus lots of photos.Watching him, took my mind off what was going on below us (i.e not very much, a massive drop.)
It's free and part of the cable car ticket.Terrific - incredible engineering all round.

Leider mussten wir etwas lange anstehen. Der Schritt ins Leere war aber schön kribbelig und Zeit für ein paar Fotos durfte man sich ohne Stress nehmen.

A faire et surtout à faire en premier lors de la montée car on ne sait jamais quel va être le temps d'attente....beaucoup de chose très intéressantes à voir en dehors de cela ; ne pas trop trainer car les descentes sont programmées dès l'arrivée par un ticket numéroté : excellente organisation pour réguler les navettes.
Le personnel est très agréable et la personne qui a la gentillesse de photographier (toute la journée !!) lorsqu'on est dans le pas du vide, prend le temps de nous photographier sous le meilleur angle !! merci, ce sera un excellent souvenir même si l'altitude m'a donné un grand mal de tête !!!!

no vale la pena la cola, las vistas no difieren de las que ves desde las terrazas y la foto te la hace el responsable de la cola, a contraluz, y apenas permaneces unos segundos allí. La foto lateral no es posible hacerla a no ser que tengas alguien allí esperando y sepa dónde colocarse… una decepción

The high summer season is a very busy time for visitors and the Pas Dans le Vide is not guaranteed to be open to the public in the event of a large number of visitors. In order to allow a maximum of visitors to access the Pas Dans le Vide, our agents propose to take some pictures of the customers in the Pas Dans le Vide because objects are forbidden inside in order to preserve this glass cage. It is indeed possible, depending on the time of your visit, that the exhibition is against the light depending on the orientation of the sun above Mont Blanc.

La photo est obligatoire une fois que l’on n’est monté là haut très impressionnant. Attention l’attente est de minimum 30min et éviter les enfants de moins de 5ans..

Le téléphérique débute son activité dès 6h30 donc si vous pouvez y aller non seulement vous profiterez de magnifiques vues mais en plus vous n'aurez pas à faire la queue pour être pris en photo dans cette boîte transparente dans le vide ! effet garantie : belle vue, photo atypique ;o)

Children under 3 years old are not allowed access to the Aiguille du Midi. It is also not recommended for children under 5 years old.

It is about 60€, but you could buy the Mont Blanc Unlimited day pass for about 5€ more and also take the Montenvers train to visit the Mer de Glace glacier & ice caves.

We went up it yesterday , the first ascent is at 8.10 am and the last one is 15.30. It’s very quiet up there at the moment so no queues! x

Bonjour,
Nous vous informons que le Pas dans le Vide se situe au niveau de la terrasse sommitale de l'Aiguille du Midi à 3842 mètres d'altitude, son accès est compris dans le prix du billet AR et dans le forfait MONT-BLANC Multipass.
De Chamonix jusqu’au sommet de l’Aiguille du Midi, le trajet se compose de deux tronçons et dure environ 30 min. : un premier téléphérique monte au Plan de l’Aiguille (2317m), puis, vous pourrez atteindre l’Aiguille du Midi par un deuxième téléphérique (3777m).
Vous pourrez ensuite emprunter un ascenseur pour monter à la terrasse sommitale et accéder au Pas dans le Vide
Nous attirons votre attention sur le fait que le téléphérique de l'Aiguille du Midi est actuellement fermé pour travaux et rouvrira le 7 juillet.
Nous restons à votre disposition pour tout complément d'information.

The access to the Aiguille du Midi is forbidden for children under 3yo and not recommended under 5yo.
