Kom som en voksen person. Første gang jeg besøgte denne spændende ubåd fra 1945. Der er meget at se samt læse om. Der er trangt men man kan nemt komme rundt. Dog er det ikke for gangbesværede eller folk i kørestol.

Short visit, it will take you max 40 mins, but at a low price (4 euro)
Nevertheless impressive to be able to visit inside a real U boat.

Auch wenn man Laboe kennt, ist dieses nicht "benutzte" U-Boot doch eine Erfahrung, die man sich gönnen sollte, um zu verstehen, was Enge bedeutet.

Interessant und informativ, günstiger Eintrittspreis aber leider total überlaufen. Wäre eventuell sinnvoll die Besucher Anzahl zu begrenzen.

Sollte man unbedingt besichtigen !
Leider ist der Einlass sehr unorganisiert, deshalb staut sich der Einlass im Innenraum des Bootes extrem.
Für Menschen mit Platzangst nicht empfehlenswert.

Så trevligt ställe att besöka, helt i original, det kostade bara 4 euro att gå ombord. Det som var överraskande var att det var ganska högt i tak fast det var en ubåt. Det kan vara svårt att ta sig igenom de runda öppningarna mellan skotten. Tekniskt såg man mycket av hur båten var uppbyggd och det fanns beskrivning på både tyska och engelska så man kunde läsa på om man ville. Bra kartor över båten så man såg var man befann sig på båten. Ett riktigt trevligt ställe att besöka om man gillar historia.

This was the U-boat type that was supposed to turn the tide for Germany during the battle of the Atlantic, being so advanced in its capabilities that it surpassed all previous types in service. In fact, even the allies took much from its design after the war. Fortunately this submarine never saw active war patrol, instead having service as a training vessel.
You can tour much of the submarine today, and if you've been able to see U995 at Laboe you'll see just how much of an improvement she is on the previous type of submarine. There is a lot more space to walk through the boat. For example, you enter at the bow of the ship where there is a small kiosk for the entrance fee of 4 Euro (very respectable) a small display case of shop items and the stern torpedo tubes.
From here you can walk through the centre of the boat, passing both engine rooms, captain & crew rest areas, sonar, radio and control room, before exiting at the bow. There are some small display boards giving information in German and English about the purpose of each room on board. As you walk through they also have a sound system that plays period music that crew would have listened too (not propaganda tunes) which fades to the sound of sonar 'pings' and ship propellers above to help the immersion of what it was like on board at times whilst on war patrol.
Its a good half hour look round, maybe a bit less. I would suggest however to be patient with other visitors touring round the boat as well, as some parts are still narrow and a good degree of flexibility is required to go through the bulkhead doors to each section. Well worth it to see a bit of history and learn from it.

This is in fantastic condition. It’s a self guided tour at your own speed. Cost is 3.50 euros. Tickets are on sale at the front of the sub where there is a small gift shop. The lady behind the counter is very helpful and speaks good English as my German is very poor.
Wouldn’t recommend if you don’t like small spaces or struggle getting through the hatches. But if you can it’s well worth a visit.
Take your time to read the information as it is very fascinating to realise how many crew were on the sub during operation.
As there are only about 4 surviving u boats from ww2 this is the best.

Easy to find; just on the main strip with many museums, a beach and a pier. Very small space to climb through to get to the end with museum areas throughout the submarine from one end to the other.

Has anybody made a video of the walk through ? I was there in the 1995 Sail Bremerhaven Tall Ships Festival, and didn't have my camcorder. Would be great if there was a Video available.

How do I get admission tickets for the U-boat exhibit before I arrive? Will it be open on July 11, 2017?

I am not sure if you can buy tickets ahead of time; we just turned up and bought our tickets as we boarded e sub.
The website says the sub is open every day during the summer.
