The statue presents the goddess Justice as a symbol of fertility and history dates this back to 1543. However, the first reconstruction of the fountain took place in 1611. It was reproduced in bronze in 1887 to minimize the impact of changes in weather conditions. The Fountain of Justice played an important role at coronation ceremonies and will be seen when visiting various attractions within the Romerbery public space area.

It is a bronze statue, honouring Justitia, the female champion of justice brandishing sword and scales and it stands in front of city hall. It has quite nice relief but could not see it closely as it is in the middle of the christmas market,.

This fountain sits in the centre of Romerberg square with a very simplistic design of a lady on top of a small pillar holding the scales of justice. The design is all in black along with it's surrounding gates with the fountain itself in terracotta.

The fountain has a prominent position in the centre of the square, so is a great starting point for exploring the Neue Altstadt.

Facing our Town Hall, the Justitia Fountain is a landmark in Frankfurt. It also offers very nice photo opportunities with the half-timbered Ostzeile buildings on the background.

Ubicada en el centro de Römerberg, la plaza más bonita de Frankfurt y el corazón de su centro histórico, es la fuente más antigua de la ciudad, remontando su existencia a 1543. Representa a la diosa Justicia sosteniendo una espada y una balanza, con los ojos descubiertos, a diferencia de la representación tradicional en la que lleva los ojos cubiertos con una venda. A sus pies se encuentran cuatro figuras que representan la justicia, la moderación, la esperanza y el amor. El conjunto se apoya en una base octogonal de arenisca roja y está rodeado de una reja negra también octogonal con un águila dorada en cuatro de sus ocho lados. La estatua que contemplamos hoy día es una réplica en bronce de la original, erigida en 1887. En 2017 fue retirada para ser sometida a un tratamiento de conservación que duró año y medio, volviéndose a colocar en la plaza en octubre de 2018, por lo que en la actualidad podemos contemplarla en todo su esplendor. Fuente muy interesante que merece que le dediquemos unos minutos.
