Trevligt fammalt torg med många fina hus runt om. Dessutom många uteserveringar av skiftande kvalitet. ´Vi fastnade för en turisk med vällagad och välkryddad mat. Trevlig pch fin service och mycket billigt dessutom.

Alter Markt a place to visit. Along the market there are numerous cafés and restaurants as well as fine old buildings.

Beautiful place, where we got a bit by accident, as we had to change our holiday plans in the very last minute. So instead of travelling to the east, we went to the west. And because it's only around 200 km away from Szczecin (depends on which route you wanna choose) we thought - why not - and just drove over there. Same as in case of other towns, Stralsund's old market square was the heart and the shop window, or perhaps would be more accurate to say, exhibit window, of the city. Most of the Stralsund's representative buildings from different historic periods can be found there. Gothic Rathaus (Town Hall), Gothic and Renaissance patricians' houses and merchants' houses, Gothic Nikolaikirche (St. Nicholas Church) or Baroque Commandantenhaus. It was, and still is Stralsund's showcase. And because Stralsund was one of the richest cites of the Hanseatic League, city council and townsfolk had enough funds to pour some of them into beautifying of the city. Of the modern attractions, there's a fountain on the eastern side of the old market square. Streams of water that gushing unexpectedly from the ground level can soak a carless passerby quite well. Also, there's a lot of restaurants and cafes around old market square and in the adjacent streets giving them cool atmosphere. Truly charming place. Oh, some time ago, I've found that Stralsund's old town was added to UNESCO World Heritage List. Fully deserved, in my humble opinion.

The Old Market square is a beautiful spot with some excellent architecture around it. The City Hall and the church are places next to each other, and the structures seem to grow into each other.
The square itself has a number of nice restaurants and cafes.

Ładne miejsce, tak jak i całe miasteczko. Zimą bardzo spokojne i ciche. Warte odwiedzenia są tam Ratusz i kości świętego Nikolasa.

Wir haben einen kurzen Stopp mit den Fahrrädern in der Stadt gemacht. Die Zeit war leider zu kurz im diese wunderschöne Stadt in jeder Ecke zu erkunden
