This is a square by the side of the Cathedral. It is also known as the triumph square. There are alot of cafe, historical building around.

La piazza in sé forse non è molto nota, ma Plaza del Triunfo ospita di fatto: la Giralda, la Cattedrale, Alcázar e Archivio Generale delle Indie, e questo la rende uno dei punti di partenza ideali per visitare il centro di Siviglia. Decisamente una tappa obbligata.

A Plaza del Triunfo é muito linda não só pelos monumentos que rodeiam Real Alcazar, Catedral , Muralha como outros particulares que a embeleza as grande avenidas. Muito linda, vale a pena visitar e almoçar por ali.

The piazza on the eastern side of the Cathedral of Seville.
All day long there is a lively movement of tourists here.
From here along the boulevards that are interwoven with a variety of different restaurants with foods from all over the world according to your taste.
Nice to find a bench and sit down to rest from a busy day of endless walking

lovely little plaza at the back of the cathedral with nice views of it and a statue in the middle. nice in the evening when the lights are on

Ci passavamo ogni giorno, è il cuore della città tra cattedrale e alcazar. Da questa piazza parte la che accoglie tutti i tapas bar del centro.

Along the History the Plaza del Triunfo in Seville has had differnt names , Plaza del Alcázar because of its proximity to it. It was also called Plaza de los Cantos because at a certain point the rubble and stones used in the construction of the Cathedral were piled up there.
Finally it is called Plaza del Triunfo in memory of the great earthquake of Lisbon in 1755.

Not named Triumph square to celebrate a military victory, but in gratitude of surviving the 1755 earthquake also felt in Seville. The believers streamed out of the cathedral and mass was continued outside. Nobody got hurt "a Miracle" that of course was attributed to Mary, mother of Christ.
On the square a pavilion dedicated to Mary and on very high columns another sculpture of her. For an outsider difficult to understand Seville's preoccupation, not to say obsession with the holy virgin and the dogma of immaculate conception. Perhaps this fascination stems from the fact it is unbelievable, indeed.
Personally I liked the refreshing fountain most.
On the square a pavilion dedicated to Mary and on very high columns another sculpture of her. For an outsider difficult to understand Seville's preoccupation, not to say obsession with the holy virgin and the dogma of immaculate conception. Perhaps this fascination stems from the fact it is unbelievable, indeed.
