Favorite activity of our Spain vacation
My family traveled to Spain in 2018 (delayed review) and had a FABULOUS time with Yves. Yves met us at the market, walked around with us telling us about different foods. He asked each of us to select a main ingredient (4 dishes in total). We went back to his home. He taught my then 11-year old son knife skills, while he taught my then 15-year old son how to cook in a skillet. Our random market selections were made into authentic Spanish dishes - beautiful and tasty! And Yves was so gracious.

For my birthday my girlfriend decided to surprise me with a virtual cooking masterclass with Yves. Although I love cooking I was a little nervous and didn't have much of an idea what to expect.
The experience was amazing, Yves took the time to walk us through in dish in detail and explain the ingredients and processes involved. After an intense two hours working with Yves in our small kitchen we had managed to create a full three course meal which we couldn't wait to eat. The food was great (we had the Romesco sauce with every meal the next day too!)
Afterwards my girlfriend showed me the options Yves and her had been working on for this surprise meal, there were so many that I'd still love to try. Yves was kind enough to share the recipes we did make though and I'll definitely be revisiting them again.
Despite being on lockdown I felt like I'd had a truly great experience from the comfort of my own home.

Even if we don't make it back to Barcelona, we definitely plan to do the virtual cooking with him again. After all you can never have too many great Spanish recipes!

We recently had a fabulous time doing a virtual cooking experience with Yves from our place in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. We had done an in-person cooking experience with him in Barcelona last fall and loved it.
The virtual experience could not have gone better. The class lasted two hours and led to a feast. Communicating in advance via What’s App, Yves provides a number if options for cooking, and we picked three. My wife and our oldest daughter did most of the work. I did a bit, and our other two daughters watched and enjoyed.
Yves was great (again), enthusiastic, and patient. The food was remarkable (we will definitely make the recipes again and again).
Even if we don’t make it back to Barcelona, we definitely plan to do the virtual cooking with him again. After all you can never have too many great Spanish recipes!

I visited Barcelona with a group of friends and this was by far the most AMAZING experience! From the moment Yves picks you up till the time you are finished you will have a once in a life time experience. If you are looking for a custom, market to table, hands on cooking tour this is the only experience I would recommend. This isn’t only a cooking tour, Yves takes you through the market and teaches you about local food, the history of Barcelona, different regional dishes and anything else you can think to ask him about. For anyone who has dietary restrictions this is a tour that will not disappoint. Since Yves helps you decide on a custom multi course menu he can conform to any dietary requests all while using fresh ingredients and helping you learn how to cook. As someone who has high expectations for food and wine quality I was blown away by the customization and the overall quality of everything during this experience. There is nothing I would have changed about the day my fiends and I had.

We met Yves at the market to plan our meal, then headed over to his home to begin prepping. His home on the hillside was lovely. We started with champagne on his rooftop then into the kitchen for preparation. Yves not only made us comfortable but had us laughing all evening. The food was delicious and it was really fun to prepare it with the chef. Our evening at Yves home was one of the most memorable of our entire 10 holiday.

Yves shared his knowledge of the market, food, wine, cooking and family with us. We enjoyed his home and meeting his family. Most importantly, he took the time to teach the children and allowed them to have a fantastic experience. The views were amazing. The wine was perfect. The food was delicious and plentiful. The comraderie was outstanding.

This was the highlight of our trip to Barcelona ! My husband and I and another couple had the best time shopping and cooking with Yves! From the second we met on email to meeting in person , shopping at the market and cooking in his kitchen , the experience was authentic, personable , warm and fun not to mention delicious food right from scratch ! Yves hospitality and opening his kitchen to us was the best part of our travels ! Highly recommend ! Thank you Yves! We will send pics when we try some of these foods back home !

Yves is knowledgeable, friendly and fun. He graciously opened his beautiful home, not to mention well appointed kitchen to us after a morning of picking our lunch at a local farm. He understood our dietary needs (vegan) and built the most amazing lunch based on what was ready in the fields. We felt very well taken care of and learned a few tricks in the kitchen. Thank you Yves for the best day ever.

Four of us just returned from a wonderful week in Barcelona, and one of the highlights was the "Chef's Tasting" experience with Yves. Yves welcomed us to his apartment atop a hillside overlooking the city with a warmth and enthusiasm that immediately set the tone for an enjoyable evening. His food was varied and beautiful - skillfully prepared and presented with clear, interesting explanations; we tried things we'd never eaten before and enjoyed old favorites. Some of the best were a delicately seasoned garlic hake that melted in our mouths, an onion-stuffed portabella mushroom topped with paper thin pork cheek, a perfectly balanced romesco sauce, and a lovely bread dessert that was drizzled with a homemade chocolate sauce and olive oil and dusted with sea salt. All the wonderful food was accompanied by bountiful wine and charming conversation led by our host. We took another cooking class while in Barcelona, and this one surpassed the other in every way; we enthusiastically recommend Yves' class to all.

Amazing experience with one of my best friends. Bucket list. We started by shopping at the Farmers Market and he picked us up at our hotel. Then Yves took us to his beautiful home with an amazing kitchen. We learned so much and enjoyed an amazing dinner in his dining room. He has a beautiful rooftop that we shared a glass of wine first. Highly recommend. Very friendly and made us feel so welcome.
