Pompeii was incredible but the tour there was very rushed, barely an hour and a half. Sorrento was beautiful and we had a fabulous lunch there. It was very impressive how the bus driver navigated all the tight roads on the coast.
Biggest downside to this tour was the tourist trap rest stop that we stopped at both ways. Very expensive food and drinks (think three to four times the price in Rome) and prices weren’t marked. Restrooms were also disgusting there. On the way back we ended up in a traffic jam which put the bus driver over the limit of his driving hours and he needed a 45 minute break at said rest stop. For some reason the guide made us stay there 60 minutes. It felt like a scam. Very disappointed because we have used Walks for tours countless times including here in Rome and never had a bad experience with them. This is the first tour we would probably not book again.

One of the best tours I did in Rome ! Gigi was the absolute best! If you are able to request a tour guide, you HAVE to choose him. He was funny, knowledgeable, and very kind! He honestly made the tour so much more enjoyable. He gave us all the fun facts and history of the forum and the coliseum. Everything was great from beginning to end. I would 100% recommend him and this tour.

Easily, one of the best tours we have taken on our 6 day trip to Italy! Cossimo was very communicative and accommodating, we were lucky to have a friendly tour guide like him! This tour was well worth every penny. Unfortunately, we found out about day tours on our last full day in Italy, otherwise we would have done these everyday! I would love to come back to Italy again and take more great day trip tours.

Our tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly and made our visits to Pompeii and Sorrento a wonderful and memorable experience! Would definitely recommend this tour!

We had an incredible day trip to Pompeii and Sorrento with Cosimo, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we met him, he was welcoming, engaging, and so easy to travel with. His signature umbrella was not only a great way to keep track of him but also a symbol of his excellent organization and care for the group. His depth of knowledge about the region was impressive, but what made him stand out was his ability to balance sharing history with giving us time to explore on our own without feeling overwhelmed. He truly made the day enjoyable, allowing us to soak in the beauty and atmosphere of each stop.
At Pompeii, we were fortunate to have Paolo as our guide, and he was fantastic. His passion for the city was evident in every word, making it feel like he was telling the story of a place he deeply loved rather than simply reciting facts. One of the best aspects of his tour was his effort to navigate us away from the larger crowds, ensuring we could fully appreciate the ruins without distraction. He was refreshingly direct about the history and the realities of life in Pompeii, which added an authenticity to the experience that we truly appreciated.

This tour was amazing day trip. Cosimo did a fabulous job explaining the regions and the history on the way down and back. Vitale was great giving us the tour at Pompeii. We primarily chose this trip for Pompeii bit the side trip to Sorrento was an unexpected pleasure. A very long day, but so worth it.

It was a great time. All the people there are great and they taught us a lot. They were funny, engaging, and most of all kind with our mistakes. I highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful day trip to Pompeii & Sorrento. Cosimo was a fantastic guide (& Brunella who took us through Pompeii ruins)! Cosimo was upbeat, organized and very knowledgeable. It was a long day (13+ hrs) but the bus ride was comfortable and we appreciated the rest stops along the way.

We had a wonderful tour of Pompeii and Sorrento, made even better by our excellent guide, Cosimo. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and ensured we got the most out of our experience. Although it was a long day, it was absolutely worth it. Visiting in March was ideal—pleasant weather and fewer crowds made for a more enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to explore these incredible sites!

Has anyone had success getting refunds since the pandemic started? We notified them on March 31st, and multiple times after, for a late May tour and still waiting for our refund. Considering the policy is must cancel 72 hours ahead of the date booked, we were well within their policy. At this point the responses seem like they just promise to escalate but nothing happens.

We also made our initial request in March for May tours. I contacted Walks several times thereafter but it wasn’t until I posted my dissatisfaction here that the wheels turned. We have come to “an arrangement” that is mostly agreeable and will be resolved the week of July 6. I hope that is the case.

How do you get a refund. I’ve called and sent emails for a week with no response.

If you already called and emailed I will then suggest to wait for their reply, I don’t think there is much you can do right now.
I’m hoping that once things get back to normal in Italy that they will contact you and give you a refund.

Can someone please tell me exactly where the meeting point is for the Gladiator's tour for the Colosseum? Several reviews say it is hard to find. Is there a screen shot of it anywhere?

After booking your tour with us, you will receive a confirmation email with all the details you will need including the exact location of the meeting point, and the time you will need to arrive there for. You will also receive a link Google Maps link to help you plan your way to the meeting point.
We do our very best to make everything as easy as possible for our guests, and our helpful Guest Experience agents are always on hand to assist you. 24-hour contact numbers are also included in all confirmation emails.

I will be there March 26-April3. Will the Pompeii trip actually go to the Almafi coast then, so many reviews state that you don't actually go there.

Hi Agish!
Previously, during low season (or if the road to Positano was closed during high season) we would have brought our guests to the lovely town of Sorrento in place of Positano.
However, after feedback from previous guests, from January 13th onwards we have changed the low season itinerary to include a stop in the town of Amalfi, which is indeed on the Amalfi side of the peninsula. Low season will be until the end of March, and from April onwards we will be stopping off in Positano once again.

Looking to book a tour to see the Sistine Chapel and La Pieta at St. Peter’s- we are staying across from the Colosseum and would probably have to take a taxi to meet our guide (?)- the price of the Early morning tour includes entrance tickets? Please advise

Yes, the price of the tickets include the entrance to the Vatican and Sistine Chapel. The tours are well organized and you will find your tour and tour guide at the designated area. The tours leave on time so be there early enough to meet up.

I am looking to book this tour for a group of 16 - do you accommodate that group size? Also, do you have any recommendations on getting from the cruise port to your meeting point?

I can't speak to how many they can accomodate but we had more than 16 in our group.
You can take the train from Civitavecchia to Roma Termini then the metro to the Colosseo stop.
