Davvero stupende!!!

Chiesa della Santissima Trinita' degli Spagnoli is locates right on Via Condotti, the designer shops mecca in Rome. The church has an oval shaped interior with paintings of Andrea Casali and delightful light green and pink marble of the walls. Certainly worth spending some time away from the shops.

It is located in Via Condotti, known for its elegant shops with the most famous brands in the world, near Largo Goldoni.
From the outside it is a very simple church, that recalls a little the style of most of the churches in the capital but inside it is like a little jewel.
It is not a very large church but it is really very rich in its decorations, especially the elliptical dome, which is the most important part of it.
There are side chapels, four are located on one side and three on the other one.
The dome has no lantern, instead in the eliptical oculus there is a fresco depicting the Apotheosis of Saint John of Matha in glory by Gregorio Guglielmi (1748).
On the main altar there is the representation of "The Holy Trinity and the freeing of a slave".
Most of the paintings in the side chapels are by the artist Andrea Casali.
This church is one of national churches of Spain in Rome.
It was built with the adjoining convent by the Spanish Trinitarians between 1741 and 1746 by the Portuguese architect Emanuele Rodriguez dos Santos.
The concave façade, with a double order of columns and pilasters, is crowned by a double tympanum and statues of the order's two founders, Saint John of Matha and Saint Felix of Valois and the coat of arms of King Philip V of Spain.
On the pediment there is a an interesting sculptor, Italian Pietro Pacilli, showing an angel about to free two slaves joined at the wrists by a real iron chain.
Have a look, when you are around the most famous shopping district of Rome.

Small, quiet church dating back to 1731 when it also housed a monastery and a pilgrim hospital. The exterior features white columns set against a light yellow facade and there are several stone statues that occupy several inches. Inside, the large dome ceiling is impressive as are some of the noteworthy paintings that hang inside the side chapels.
