Molto piccolo ma un vero gioiellino nel cuore dell'Eur. Colpisce in modo particolare la ricostruzione della decorazione a intarsio di marmi colorati che ornava una sala della domus monumentale fuori Porta Marina ad Ostia Antica risalente alla fine del IV secolo d.C.. Da visitare

Museo bellissimo, nonostante sia davvero piccolo (saranno 5-6 sale, non di più). Però ha al suo interno delle perle. Sicuramente la più interessante è la decorazione in opus sectile di un ambiente scavato presso Porta Marina ad Ostia Antica.
Questo, come per il resto tutto il museo, è la dimostrazione come non fosse vero che il medioevo sia stato un periodo buio per l'arte.
U appunto però è da fare: il biglietto di entrata è di 10€ e comprende altri due musei sulla piazza, e fino a qui nessun problema. Però, mentre gli altri due hanno un ascensore per salire ai musei, questo ne è sprovvisto. Questo può essere un problema per chi ha difficoltà motorie.
Questo, come per il resto tutto il museo, è la dimostrazione come non fosse vero che il medioevo sia stato un periodo buio per l'arte.
U appunto però è da fare: il biglietto di entrata è di 10€ e comprende altri due musei sulla piazza, e fino a qui nessun problema. Però, mentre gli altri due hanno un ascensore per salire ai musei, questo ne è sprovvisto. Questo può essere un problema per chi ha difficoltà motorie.

Piccolo museo all'eur in un palazzo razionalista. L'esposizione è bella e valida, le spiegazioni eccellenti, il personale gentile e cortese e la stanza in opis sectile indescrivibile. Consigliato a tutti in quanto le spiegazioni sono veramente ben fatte, soprattutto quella della stanza in opus sectile

Здесь можно посмотреть коллекцию фибул, украшений, оружия, посуды, вышитых тканей 6-8 вв. и мраморную мозаику из Остии-богатого района древнего Рима. Для всех, интересующихся данной тематикой, очень советую посетить музей средневековья в Болонье. Билет: 10 € (также является входом в несколько других музеев).

Un interessante museo che mette in evidenza un periodo storico che ha prodotto arte non molto conosciuta ma altamente coinvolgente.

This is a hidden jem of Rome history museums - off the tourist map. Located next to two other museums in a 1930's massive complext of buildings. All museums can be visited with one ticket 10 euro. This one focus's is on the medival period 5th to 10th century with the contents of burials. Plus a fabric section from 6th to 8tth century.There is a great resturant located on the site so between miseums you can recharge at resonable prices and excellent food. Its great a worth the bus trip.

Excelente, tal vez de las joyas.más desconocidas de Roma y de la Historia. Muy recomendable junto a la visita obligada a las catacumbas.

I got to know of this museum in the EUR area of Rome through a tip from a friend as otherwise it is not that easy to find. The collection within is interesting and worth visiting. The focus is mainly on the part of the middle ages following the fall of the Roman Empire up til roughly the early 14th century at most.
The museum is well explained however the information panels are almost exclusively in Italian and I am not aware of an audio guide as I was not offered one at the entrance. I was in a way lucky to be fluent in Italian so I could follow what was written. I could imagine non Italian speakers having a though time understanding most of the artefacts.
In a nutshell, the museum is worth visiting but can be improved with a little more effort.
