Als je van het Stazione van Corniglia stapt dan krijg je te maken met deze toch zeer speciale toegangsweg naar het Borgo: 382 trappen omhoog.
Toch een deftige inspanning dat zeker,
Je kan ook met een klein busje op en af vanaf het station.
Enfin, dit maakt van Corniglia echt een “specialeke” in Cinqueterre.

La scalinata, con i suoi 377 gradini in mattoni rossi conduce al borgo di Corniglia e contribuisce a rendere il borgo molto suggestivo.

From the station to the village, you have to climb up these stairs. I think there is a shuttle bus that is able to take the less abled but they do not come frequently. The stairs take about 15mins to walk up but are thankfully not too steep, there are just a lot of them. Towards the top they offer stunning views.

Evitata in salita, percorsa con il più comodo bus navetta, abbiamo poi deciso di percorrerla in discesa.
Molto lunga, ma ampia e con i gradini relativamente bassi, è estremamente scenografica, poichè si snoda lungo tutto lo sperone roccioso ed è affacciata sul mare sottostante.
Termine proprio in prossimità della stazione ferroviaria.

Unlike the other 4 Cinque Terre towns, Corniglia is not down beside a harbour or beach. It is set up on high in the hilltops above the Ligurian Sea.
Unfortunately the Cinque Terre train runs along the coast so if you arrive by train, you have to get up the hill somehow.
There are two options. Either walk up the long flight of stairs or get the small shuttle bus.
There are 33 flights zig-zagging up the hill and 377 stairs, although the number varies and sometimes it is said to be more (I certainly wasn’t counting).
It takes about 15 - 20 minutes.
However it is not as bad as it sounds. Each step is wide and long and sloping so that the effect is more like a stepped ramp than a conventional staircase. Its quite manageable for kids although expect to be asked “How much further?”, a LOT of times.
It’s not the easiest walk especially in summer but you always have the bus as a back-up plan if it looks too daunting or you have luggage.
Going down is fine and you have birds eye views down over the sea and cross the hillsides which helps.
Alternately, the shuttle pass leaves from the station, it runs regularly and is free if you have a Cinque Terre Pass but (not surprisingly) it is generally pretty crowded.

Arrivati alla stazione di Corniglia è possibile raggiungere il centro storico con il bus (gratuito se si ha la Cinque Terre Card) oppure lungo questa scalinata.
Io consiglio di fare la scalinata poiché la vista di cui si può godere man mano che si sale ripaga di tutta la fatica.
Gli scalini sono regolari e con qualche sosta nel mezzo anche i meno allenati ce la possono fare.

Son duras de subir porque son mas de 300 escaleras y en verano peor hay opción de subir en bus, pero vale la pena subirlas y disfrutar la vista

Più del borgo di Corniglia penso che a tanti rimanga impressa la scalinata Lardarina.
Arrivando a Corniglia in treno si può decidere di salire al borgo con il bus o tramite la scalinata, io consiglio quest'ultima anche se va fatta con calma perchè faticosa.
Ultima cosa vi suggerisco, prima di salire, di guardare in alto e vedere questo bellissimo intreccio di scale a zig-zag che sembra non finire mai.
Arrivando a Corniglia in treno si può decidere di salire al borgo con il bus o tramite la scalinata, io consiglio quest'ultima anche se va fatta con calma perchè faticosa.
Ultima cosa vi suggerisco, prima di salire, di guardare in alto e vedere questo bellissimo intreccio di scale a zig-zag che sembra non finire mai.

This stairway is quite steep and not for the faint of heart! This is one of the two ways to get to Corniglia (the other is the road which is longer but the steepness is milder). The views are nice but be prepared to sweat on the way up. However very enjoyable on the way down!

Che fatica … sono trecento scalini a zig zag per arrivare in cima e conquistarsi la visita del borgo, in mezzo al verde e ai terrazzamenti
