This morning I went back to Via Dante, once again noting how the negative aspects far outweigh the positive ones: hideous dehors everywhere, cyclists and scooters whizzing by within an inch, vans constantly maneuvering, widespread sloppiness. The safety of passers-by is more precarious than ever, while supervision and controls do not exist at all. In addition, the disorder of so much "urban furniture" also compromises the beautiful "scope" towards the Castello Sforzesco, which is - or rather would be - a fascinating prospect and of the highest value. A really depressing situation: I say this with deep pain, as an old Milanese that I am, but with just as much conviction.
In general squalor, the increasingly ridiculous habit of setting up Christmas lights and so on at least a month and a half in advance takes second place: this is also a sign of the times (bad weather).
And to my old "screwdriver" heart could certainly not be enough, to console, the photographic exhibition on the 125 years of Milan (where, however, there is, inexplicably, not a single image dedicated to the unforgettable, but forgotten, paròn Nereo Rocco).

Last Saturday, given the beautiful sunny day, we took a ride in the center of Milan, also covering a nice stretch of Vi Dante.
The street, opened at the end of the nineteenth century to directly connect the Duomo to the Castle is still very beautiful as regards the buildings that flank it, all from the same period and consistent with each other, but, unfortunately, it is full of ugly dehors in front of the numerous premises (justified in the period of the pandemic, now less so) and is always crossed by droves of cyclists and rude scooter riders who speed between passers-by, endangering their safety.
Of course, you can't even see the shadow of a traffic warden.
A curiosity: Via Dante starts from Piazza Cordusio with a rather wide stretch that narrows reaching the intersection with Via Meravigli; well, for the Milanese DOC that stretch is still considered as part of the square and Via Dante begins after that intersection.

There is a cashier a woman of Peruvian race, I got two summer pants and 2 long winter T-shirt for my daughter everything cost 11.90 as a balance price every one, but one wrote 30euros and added in the total price without telling me that that is not even a balance has a pink card written that discounted by 70%. Luckily I saw and asked if how much they cost and said it is not a balance but to be clear with that design there are other pairs that have tag equal discount prices. Okay as soon as I heard, I said I'm not taking it. Then if as I wanted to get a summer dress for me I went back to pay her then again this racist woman and her own ill-behaved, non-professional asked me a normal price and not discounted even if she knows and already seen that she has a discounted lowered price in the rosy windmill. Then if as I feel badly treated I said that I know she has a red receipt and how come you still do not put a discounted price, she does not answer but pretends that she has no sight .. but impossible because she only has a piece of price tag. Then if as there are other people in line look at it and changed the price. Without asking for an apology. In Milan there are many lei and one of them. Too bad because a brand that I love most of all. Be careful guys not all sales that sell give you the price in sales but what they want.

This is a street that, although lined with fine buildings, I no longer willingly travel. In fact, from last autumn to today, I have passed there a few times and never for pleasure. I have clearly expressed the reasons in my previous reviews, to which is added an increasingly marked incivility and neglect on the part of citizens and also of merchants.
The Via Dante that I remember, and which unfortunately I no longer find, was the quintessence of a discreet and elegant beauty, above all tidy and clear, with the beautiful late nineteenth-century buildings well aligned and perfectly consistent in style and size.
Today, and by now, it is a jumble of rather hideous terraces, parked vans, the incessant whizzing of daredevils on bikes or scooters, and so on and so forth. Suffice it to say that I always assiduously use the metal panels of posters or photographic exhibitions, not only for the pleasure of admiring the images, but because they are providential shields of protection from bicycles.

Last week and again this morning I walked, alone and with my wife, along this street which was once beautiful and elegant, and today appears increasingly disorderly, vulgar and even dangerous to travel due to the senseless whizzing of bikes and scooters, not only in the center of the road, but also on the sidewalks, obviously without any form of control on the part of anyone.
I don't give the minimum mark only because in this period the path is brightened, and I would say ennobled, by the (unfortunately few) images of "I was also a singer-songwriter" which portray Francesco Guccini in some moments of his life and intense artistic career.
It goes without saying that Christmas lights are prematurely present here and there (but it's better not to get distracted so as not to be run over...).

It was wonderful to stay on the terrace where we ate delicious spaghetti and Tagliatelli, this terrace is surrounded by several terraces. Fast and friendly service. There was a continuous passage of tourists, because this street leads to the Cathedral.

スタバのあるコルドジオ広場からスフォルツェスコ城に向かって伸びる歩行者専用道路。陽が暮れると道沿いの建物がライトアップされて、すごく煌びやか。多くのレストランがあり、テラス席が用意されていて、かなり賑やかです。そして通りの突き当たりに見えるスフォツェスコ城もライトアップされてすごく美しい。Duomoといい、この通りといい演出上手いなぁ！
