Piazza dei Signori is a short walk from Piazza delle Erbe. In the square is a statue of Dante Alighieri, the Italian writer, poet, and philosopher that died in 1321. Dante spent 7 years in Verona when he was exiled from Florence.

Superbe place aux beau bâtiments renaissance; en son centre la statue de Dante trône en majesté. Incontournable à Vérone, elle en est le coeur vivant où s'agglutinent les touristes(spectacle gratuit). En contrebas de la Piazza Delle Erbe, elle offre, dans une belle unité architecturale un contrepoint majestueux à la Piazza Bra que l'on rejoint par la riche avenue Mazzini

Un piazzale circondato da splendidi edifici, il fulcro amministrativo della vecchia città. Al centro troneggia la statua di Dante, alla cui destra ci si dirige verso piazza delle Erbe, davanti c'è il palazzo della Ragione e torre Lamberti, alla sinistra le Arche Scaligere, dietro la Loggia, con le sue colonne di marmo.

Not full of people as there are no food places here but it was a very pretty square that was just off Piazza Delle Erbe. You pass under the whale bone to get here and there is a statue of Dante in the centre.

La preferisco a Piazza delle Erbe per la sua relativa tranquillità e per lo stile. La statua di Dante attira l’attenzione, ma sono i palazzi che vi si affacciano a darne una connotazione elegante e ricca di storia.

Was so good to sit and enjoy the Pizza dei Signori with beautiful buildings. Had lunch and enjoyed the short break at Piazza.

This is a bit more interesting than the Ragione since at least there is a decent sight to be seen and taken selfies and enjoy a bit.

Un luogo frequentato, ma in cui il tempo è sospeso. Magnifiche architetture da ogni lato: affascinante confrontare le diverse epoche di costruzione degli edifici che la delimitano.

Love the architecture of the buildings around it; enter them to explore/see more. My favorite part is the statue of Dante Aleghieri, one of my favorite poets.

we will be visiting Verona late September. Can anybody advise on best location close to rena and /or central train station, and convenient 3 or 4 star hotel?

We stayed at Grand Hotel Des Arts which was about 15 minute walk from train station. Also the hotel was walking distance to many of the popular sites
