Together with her horses, Marika will take you to discover the beauties and history of the city of Lucca, passing by the most important squares and monuments, such as the Duomo and Piazza Anfiteatro, to get to walk on the wonderful and unique Renaissance walls. A real dive into the past through a carriage in a city that seems to have remained in medieval times.

Pleasant walk as a couple with Marika and her horse Mario. It was an absolute discovery to walk in a carriage through the streets of the city center with Marika who explained the various stages of the construction of the city itself, as well as the various feuds between families in past eras as well as a lot of very fascinating anecdotes that we could never discover on our own. Mario (the horse) really has a fantastic personality, intelligent and very skilled. In a couple of shops downtown, where everyone loves Marika and Mario and where he knows they always have a carrot ready, he stops at the door and waits. An idol!
They also had a blanket for their legs, although it didn't help for us.
Highly recommended.

This is a brilliant way to see Lucca, Marika is an excellent guide and clearly passionate about her city. We stopped numerous times allowing Marika to take to explain the history, which also gives our friend Luigi the horse time to rest from the heat. Luigi seems to be a celebrity, with 100’s of people taking his picture.
We couldn’t recommend this enough, really enjoyable, entertaining and informative.

Excellent would definitely recommend lovely friendly guide. Very entertaining great way of seeing Lucca. Very reasonably priced! You need to book ahead to guarantee your place.

The tour operator did not let us know that they would not be able to provide this booked and paid for tour!!
Another tour operator with limited English assisted us and did their best but we do not believe we received what was promoted was what we received! Save your money!

I am very sorry that my colleague did not live up to your expectations. I apologize for the inconvenience, but unfortunately I was replaced temporarily as I had health problems that did not allow me to be present at work. Anyway, thanks for your review, it will be a point of reflection to improve the service with my colleague.

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience than with Marika and Mario (the horse)! Marika was so knowledgeable and great with our two young daughters - Mario is a local celebrity and made stops for snacks at local bars and restaurants as he gently walked us through the entire walled city and on a beautiful ride atop the city walls. It is a perspective of the city you can’t get any other way and should not be missed!

Wonderful! This is the best way to easily get to know Lucca by open horse carriage. Marika deftly informed us of historical facts whilst guiding her sweet horse, Luigi at a slow pace all around the city & walls. Plenty of time for questions & photos. There is just no better way to tour Lucca! We are ladies of a certain age & could happily have done it every single day & saved out feet from cobblestones. LOL Seriously, DO NOT MISS this gentle & fun way to tour around Lucca. It is perfection. Delightful & well worth the cost! Molto Grazie, Marika (& Luigi!). We shall return!

This was a highlight of our trip! She is a delight and very easy to understand. We enjoyed the lighthearted tour through the streets of Lucca, enjoying the historical sites and local community vibe.

Absolutely superb way to spend a morning!
We could not have chosen better!
Our carriage was pulled by Luigi who is quite a character in himself, knowing where to stop on route for little treats from the shop owners. Even pawing at the ground and tapping with his hoof to ask for the next treat!
The ride itself was brilliant and our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly and what a way to see a city, in and around all the narrow streets it was really something special!
After the streets we went up on the city walls and it was beautifully tranquil and relaxing with Luigi pulling us at a gentle walk
Luigi knew what was expected of him and behaved himself wonderfully.
If you get the opportunity to take this ride definitely go for it.

good evening, the carriage can accommodate up to 5 people, but I have the opportunity to call a colleague of mine, so as to have two carriages and therefore accommodate 4 people each.
the tours are always private regardless of the number of people.
