Vale la pena salire sulla torre per godere della vista dall'alto si tetti della città.
La salita è un po' difficoltosa perché lo scalinata in legno è angusta e ripida, ma per fortuna ben arieggiata

We visited the tower as part of a 3 ticket deal which included the Guingi Tower and Botanical Gardens. Don't forget to chose the time you visit.
This was our favourite tower, it was certainly not as busy as the Guingi, it is higher and you have the bonus of the bells at the top.
As with our review of the Guingi, no history just our observations/advice.
First thing first, its worth the visit, we loved it up their, shaded on top, great views, less visitors (we had it to ourselves for half of the time we were there) and the bells (more about the bells later).
Finding it - I know this sounds odd, because it is one of the tallest buildings in Lucca, but you do have to look for it. At street level the entrance is very discreet. So pay attention, its straight forward - we used the Google Map App on our phone, but it is a low key entrance.
Effort - It's a tower, it is one of the tallest structures in Lucca, so you do need a certain level of mobility and fitness but as we have said about Guingi - don't be put off. Take your time and visit it.
Head for heights - as before, unless you're a genuine vertigo sufferer you'll be fine.
Guingi vs dell Ore - which one if you can only do one? We would do the dell Ore, for us we found it the nicer tower, less visited, great view etc
Those bells - time to point out the obvious - this is a clock tower, that means that one of the bells chimes the hours on the hour. You are standing directly under the bell, so you will get to experience it. It is NOT too loud and if you monitor the time on your watch/phone you can plan it and capture it on your phone/camera/video/GoPro. We enjoyed that, it makes for a very atmospheric video, starting with the bell being struck and panning out across the city - your chance to be Frederico Fellini. Don't forget, on the three site ticket you're asked to chose the time of your visit here, so you can plan this.

Deze toren kan je niet missen. Je komt er vanzelf langs als je door het centrum wandelt. Hij staat aan de Via Fillungo, bekende straat in Lucca Het blijkt dat je ook naar boven kan, wij niet gedaan.

La idea era visitar la torre Guinigui, pero estaba en mantenimiento justo hasta el día en que fuimos, así que ésta fue la segunda opción.
Es una bonita torre del S.XIII que la ciudad compró para instalar un reloj; el nombre sugiere acumulación de oro, pero es la torre para ver la hora.
Es una torre austera, con una preciosa vista de la ciudad y del entorno. Recibe menos visitas que la torre Guinigui (peculiar por los árboles en su punto más alto), pero es más alta que aquella, así que tiene iguales o mejores vistas.

Bella esperienza da fare sicuramente se si è a Lucca. La visuale a 360 gradi della città al termine della scalata merita tutto il costo del biglietto. Le campane sono tutt'ora attive occhio alle orecchie!

Bellissimo panorama sul centro storico di Lucca, incredibilmente uniforme e pittoresco. Dall'alto le inserzioni barocche e ottocentesche si assottigliano; risalta, invece, il marrone austero dei piani alti di pressoché tutte le case medievali, e le aggraziate colonnine che ne adornano le finestre. Da ogni lato, il centro finisce compatto ed inizia il verde dei monti circostanti. Il giallo e il marrone che dominano la scena sono spezzati solo sporadicamente dalle linee (più o meno) dritte delle poche strade principali del centro, che lasciano intravedere il fiume di turisti. Macchie di bianco dalle forme più varie le sagome delle varie belle chiese romaniche. La salita è stretta, ma non molto lunga; da qui si offre alla vista anche la torre Guinigi (cosa notoriamente non possibile ammirando lo stesso panorama allo stesso prezzo ma dall'alto della torre Guinigi).

Bonita torre del S.XIII en el centro de Lucca que la ciudad compró en el S: XIV para instalar un espectacular reloj y una esfera en el S XV. El actual mecanismo y la esfera con una sola aguja son del S.XVIII.

Durante il mio soggiorno lucchese passeggiando per la città con Maps sempre attivo, mi sono imbattuta nella facciata di questa Torre; personalmente l'ho ammirata solamente da sotto insù, perché già avevo ammirato Lucca dall'alto da altri edifici, ma scorgendo le recensioni ho letto che è uno dei 3 punti migliori per avere un'ottima visuale d'insieme.

Impressive clock tower in the beautiful city of Lucca. The brickwork is very nice and looks very historic. There are great views for photograph of the clock tower from the south end of Via Fillungo.
