The statue of Cosimo I de' Medici is located in the middle of Piazza dei Cavalieri in front of the Palazzo della Carovana and was built at the end of the sixteenth century to celebrate him as the first Grand Master of the order of the knights of Santo Stefano. Si trova nel bel mezzo della Piazza dei Cavalieri, e quasi passa inosservata in confronto alla mole del grande Palazzo della Carovana che si trova alle sue spalle.

Dedicata a Cosimo de' Medici rappresenta un'attrazione importante della città.
E la vasca a conchiglia che è posizionata davanti è fantastica !

Kozmo I Mediči je bio osnivač viteškog reda Sv.Stefana pa se i njegova renesansna skulptura nalazi ispred nekadašnjeg sedišta tog reda, pored crkve istoimenog sveca. Spomenik je još u vreme renesanse podigao njegov sin u belom mermeru. Spomenik je veoma lepo urađen sa mnoštvom interesantnih detalja.

...questa statua di Cosimo dei Medici si trova in Piazza dei Cavalieri a Pisa proprio davanti al bellissimo Palazzo della Canonica...fu costruita in onore del primo maestro dell'ordine dei Cavalieri di Santo Stefano!!...è Cosimo de Medici in piedi su un alto piedistallo!!...davanti si trova una fontana con una vasca a conchiglia!!...la statua è stata danneggiata con il tempo e si presenta con qualche pezzo nancante!!...comunque da vedere!!...

A Pisa, a 600 metri da Piazza dei Miracoli, nella Piazza dei Cavalieri, la Statua di Cosimo I De' Medici, imponente statua scolpita dallo scultore francese Pierre de Francqueville, rappresenta il primo gran maestro dell'Ordine dei cavalieri di Santo Stefano, appunto Cosimo I De' Medici, su di un enorme piedistallo con alla base una vasca a forma di conchiglia.
