Bellissima piazza e bellissima città.
Sembra di tornare indietro nel medioevo, palazzi tenuti benissimo. Tanti posti da visitare e tanti locali che di affacciano nella piazza.

Una joya, bien cuidada y con una belleza imponente. Descansar en esta plaza, tomar algo en cualquiera de sus múltiples terrazas, pasear... Todo es relajante aquí.

Una piazza bellissima con al centro la scenografica fontana Maggiore. La vista è bellissima dalla scalinata della cattedrale, con il palazzo dei Priori e la prospettiva di corso Vannucci.

This is the historic centre of Perugia and the best starting place to explore the city. Even if you are on a very tight itinerary, you will want to spend some time here.
The main sights in the piazza are:
i) Palazzo Dei Priori - a 14th century fortress-like palazzo with a giant bronze griffin and lion guarding its doors. It houses the National Gallery and although we didn’t have time to do this, it was free to go into the lobby where we could see replicas of the griffin and lion up close.
ii) Sala Dei Notari (free) - part of the Palazzo dei Priori, with elaborate frescoes featuring coats of arms of wealthy and powerful Perugian families. Disappointingly, we missed out on this. It wasn’t obvious and we didn’t realise it was there until too late.
iii) Duomo / Cathedral - an unusual cathedral, with a strange facade. The pink and white marble tiling is unfinished and the front entrance faces away from the piazza. From the Piazza IV Novembre, you only see the side. Inside, a curious highlight is the “Santo Anello” (the wedding ring of the Virgin Mary). Free entry.
iv) Fontana Maggiore - a magnificently ornate marble fountain built in 1278 which takes centre stage in the piazza.
v) Loggia - A minor sight, this is the arched verandah-like attachment along the side of the cathedral. Look for the ‘Stone of Justice’, an inscription which records the cancellation of the public debt in 1234. Free entry.
NOTE: Activities are sometimes held in the square. When we were there, an outdoor promotional basketball competition was being held. The temporary courts and trucks detracted from the ancient feel of the piazza but it was fun to watch the night-time games.

Sarà impossibile non passarci e sarà altrettanto impossibile non fermarsi ad ammirare Palazzo dei Priori, la Cattedrale e la Fontana Maggiore.

Cette place à taille humaine a beaucoup de charme. Sur les escaliers du Domo vous avez une belle vue sur la rue principale. elle est vivante

Asimmetrica, rappresenta il cuore della città. La circondano la fiancata della Cattedrale di San Lorenzo e il Palazzo dei Priori, sede della Galleria nazionale. Al centro spicca la bellissima Fontana Maggiore. La Piazza accoglie inoltre le principali manifestazioni della città quali Umbria Jazz ed Eurochocolate.
