Je voulais visiter cette bibliothèque depuis longtemps. L’endroit est superbe mais le personnel est antipathique et il n’y a aucune explication générale sur le lieu et pire encore au niveau de la cave que l’on peut également visiter. On voit qu’il y a beaucoup d’argent qui a été dépensé pour cette dernière exposition mais le résultat est peu intéressant, la belle cave voûtée est encombrée d’écrans et il ny a plus d’âme dans ce lieu.

世界遺産に登録されています。大聖堂隣にあります。靴などからそのままはく大きめのスリッパを履き、中に入ります。施設の2階にあるアートショップでチケットを受け取り自分の国を言うと各々の国のガイドブックがいただけます。
図書館はA〜分類で分かれていてカーテンで閉められ照明はダメなので写真はフラッシュＮＧです。

Sehr unfreundliches Personal, keine Erklärung an der Kasse. Fanden uns nicht zurecht und wurden nur darauf hingewiesen, was man nicht darf. Für Informations- und Situationsplan mussten wir nochmals zur Kasse zurück und nachfragen. Audio-Guide wäre interessant gewesen, wurde aber nicht erwähnt, dass es das gibt.
Pluspunkt war das Klosterbistro, da fühlten wir uns willkommen und wurden sehr freundlich bedient.

Very nice, especially the large globe, so much history. Almost as pretty as the old library in Dublin. Entire complex is included in the Swiss Travel pass.

Die Stiftsbibliothek und die beiden weiteren Ausstellungen zur Geschichte und der Entwicklung der Abtei, ist ein absolutes Must-See. Es ist faszinierend diesen alten Bestand an Büchern zu sehen. Ich bin kein Barock-Fan, aber die Gesamte Anlage sollte man mal einen halben Tag mindestens auf sich wirken lassen. Das Museum ist super aufbereitet und es macht Freude in das Gesamtgeschehen einzutauchen.

When in St. Gallen, make sure not to miss a visit to this amazing historic library. It is really impressive. The smell and atmosphere, the state of preservation. Next to century old books there is also a beautiful wooden floor and gigantic historic globe to marvel at. The entrance price is not cheap but definitely worth it. You cannot bring inside any bags but there are lockers to store them for the duration of your visit.

When I went there it was breathtaking! Really beautiful inside the library, and the people working there were very nice to me as well. I'd see myself studying there if I was a student.

Bibliothek 12 CHF, das Kloster kann man besichtigen, muss man nicht. 12 CHF sind viel Geld, aber die Bibliothek ist einmalig

No, this is not correct. Photographs are only allowed with special permission by the management. For commercial use a fee must be payed, depending on what the picture is used for.

Yes, of course, there is an elevator and all levels of the Abbey Library are accessible for wheelchairs.

Yes, the Abbey Library Museum ist open on Saturdays and Sundays.
The more restrictive opening hours refer to the reading room of the library and concerns the scholars who work in the library, not the greater public.
