We went on a tour on the last day of our trip to the Netherlands.
We had stayed in Rotterdam for the week but we also spent some time in Amsterdam during our holiday.
We took a watertaxi over to the stadium from central Rotterdam, which is a really nice way to get there.
The Feyenoord tour started from the club shop where the guide made sure everyone was there. Me and my wife explained we only spoke English at this point and a few other guests said the same thing to the tour guide. At this point he reassured us that he would start the tour in Dutch, but then translate into English.
Unfortunately this wasn't really the case - the majority of the tour was in Dutch and when he asked if we had any questions, it was quite difficult to ask questions as we weren't sure what he had been talking about for the majority of the tour.
I appreciate that Dutch is the native language, but when the guide could speak English well, it felt a bit like he could have told us so much more. There were many times he had the Dutch speaking crowd laughing and the one time he told a joke or two in English, he got a good laugh from all of us.
We had a couple of English speakers behind us that had a Dutch speaker with them, who was translating. It was more like we were getting the tour from her and she said that he was speaking so fast in Dutch that it was difficult to translate so quickly.
As Feyenoord played Sturm Graz in the Europa League the night before, unfortunately the home dressing room was unavailable as part of the tour.
The stadium is lovely and I'm glad I went, but it could have been so much better with a bit more interaction with our guide.
Having done the tour at Ajax a day before, it was a very different experience. Ajax offer self guided tours throughout the day, whereas Feyenoord offer guided tours with limited availability.
The tour staff at Ajax were very friendly and so, so helpful. Whilst our guide wasn't a bad guide, it just felt like there could have been more effort to speak more to us and we would have enjoyed it more. When you only offer guided tours, this is even more important. When you offer self guided, such as Ajax, you can go around at your own pace and ask as many questions as you like. Unfortunately this wasn't the case at Feyenoord.
After the tour, we went into the club shop. You get a 10% discount with the tour in the shop, so I bought a home shirt, as these are only available in the club shop and I wanted something to remember my trip to Rotterdam by.
The staff in the club shop were really friendly and I had a nice chat with them person behind the counter about football. He also helped with sizing for products and any other queries I had.

i attended the opening of The World Police and Fire Games at the stadium. The train ride to the stadium was very easy and signage once i arrived was great. There are plenty of concession areas for food and drink.

Historic stadium within easy reach of downtown, has its own tram stop. Our guide did not speak English which was a shame as another family from Ireland were on the tour with me and the kids looked a bit bored. Other guides, that we bumped into ,could speak English so you may get lucky. You get a good look around the stadium and museum so still worth it if your footy mad, like me.

Absolute s***hole of a ground for away fans. Needs knocking down and rebuilding or better still use the Ajax stadium for International games..

has anyone been an away fan in the home seats during an international here - given 5% of the capacity is all thats allocated to the away fans for an upcoming Nations League match and i probably wont be able to get one of those, I'm contemplating buying a ticket amongst the dutch fans
If it was a feyenoord match i wouldnt risk it but I'm wondering if it will be safe and friendly for an international
would appreciate hearing form anyone who has done it

To park in the parking garage, do you have to have a ticket to a match? We’re hoping to attend the match on 21.3.2019 (Oranje v Belarus) and just want to see when and how long we can park there. Thank you!

You should take the tram and park elsewhere. Carpark Boston-Seatlle Q-parking at the Wilhelminaplein and than take tram 12 or tram 23. They will stop at the stadion
Do i need to book ticket to see stadium?

You can book a stadiumtour via the official website of the stadium.
Better still is buying a ticket. You can buy a ticket from the Feyenoord website. The season starts this August so hopefully you're in luck.

What are the rules about what you can carry in to a game? Are backpacks allowed?

Not a strange question at all. I am not opposed to being checked. I was simply wondering if backpacks were allowed to be carried in. I found a nice lady while walking in to ask. Thanks anyways.
