I booked the Blandy's wine tours though PBW, the best way it seems of getting this tour in advance. So glad I did because I was forced to reschedule. All of this was dealt with very efficiently by Olena, thank you.

Poder visitar um local onde se aliam a história, o desenvolvimento de uma marca e todo o cuidado para preservar um método de produção com os mais altos padrões de qualidade, foi uma experiência inesquecível!

The cruise was lovely and enabled us to see the beauty of the sourounding fells with there unique terrace vine yards, contouring around the rugged fells of the Douro.
You can do longer cruises but to be honest we dont like being on boats so long, so a 2 hour cruise is just right for us. We got the train back down to Peso da Regua.. which was also nice to see from a different perspective and hugs the river all the way back down ..All in all a great Boat / train ride :)

Visita guiada e muito interessante à Quinta dos Termos, na qual se ficam a conhecer as instalações, as vinhas e as castas, e a produção dos seus vinhos. Para culminar da melhor forma, no final há uma prova de vinhos em que se ficam a conhecer particularidades sobre os mesmos.

Bei der Buchung unseres Ausfluges auf einem privaten Boot auf dem Douro wurde ich bereits beim Veranstalter Portugal by Wine sehr gut beraten. Man hatte das Gefühl, dass man gemeinsam die beste Lösung für den Kunden finden wollte. Invictus Cruise stellte das Boot und die zwei Mann Besatzung. Das Boot ist in einem sehr gepflegten Zustand und gerade zwei Jahre alt. Alles war bei unserer Ankunft perfekt vorbereitet. José und André waren beide ausgezeichnete Gastgeber. Ohne aufdringlich zu sein, haben sie uns jeden Wunsch von den Augen abgelesen und erfüllt. Wir fühlten uns an Bord von Freunden.

Reservamos una cata de vinos con Portugal by Wine en Quinta da Aveleda, unas bodegas con unos jardines muy bonitos y al finalizar la visita a los jardines nos ofrecieron una cata de 3 vinos verdes con maridaje de quesos. Una experiencia estupenda y agradable.

We booked two winery visits in the Douro Valley through Portugal by Wine and it could not have been easier. Both of the wineries were incredible and the experiences both unique from one another. We had private tours both days and learned so much about the region. Upon arrival to both Quintas, we shared that we had booked through Portugal by Wine and they would perk up - it was clear Portugal by Wine is a trusted partner of theirs to book unique tours and we felt taken care of immediately. I will definitely book through them again in the future! Quinta do Popa and Quinta das Carvalhas were both incredible and we could not recommend them more.

We did the "Sunset & Dinner at DOC" tour. This is a superb package and well worth the admittedly non-trivial cost. (Ours was about €1000 for four people.) If you love Douro wines, as we do, this is a great way to see where they come from and enjoy them with food from the same terroir or nearby.
The cruise was excellent; it was just our party and the chap captaining the boat. He helpfully explained some of the sights to us, although understandably did have to spend more time piloting the craft. Weather was lovely; after a recent heat-wave in Portugal, we luckily encountered fair temperatures and sunny skies. I would advise dressing warmly for your time out on the boat, as it is always cooler and windier on the water. We were nearly cold even in late June, but blankets were provided to sit under. At least on our day, the Douro was very calm, so it was a smooth ride. The scenery of the quintas is simply breathtaking and unlike any wine country we had ever seen elsewhere. The amount of labour that must have gone into building these steep terraced vineyards, hundreds of years ago with no mechanized equipment, is incomprehensible.
Olena and Vanessa from Portugal by Wine were very helpful in replying to emails, setting up the tour, and booking a car to transport our party more than 100km from Oporto to the starting point of the cruise and home afterward (for extra cost of course; you'll not incur that if you drive to the pier yourself). Vanessa informed us two weeks before our tour that by unfortunately DOC would be closed for repairs on the day of our tour. She helpfully proposed Castas e Pratos as an alternative, but graciously offered that we could cancel everything at no cost (which is not usually the policy) if we had been insistent on dining at DOC. We chose to keep the tour and go to the alternative restaurant.
Castas e Pratos was FANTASTIC, probably among the top five dinners anyone in our party had ever had. Food was perfect, service extremely attentive (at a time when most restaurants are short of staff), wine list was incredible, and the restaurant itself architecturally beautiful. Obviously I have no basis to review DOC, but maybe this tour should be changed to intentionally always go to Castas e Pratos! :)
