Óbidos foi um dos lugares que eu mais gostei em Portugal. O lugar é uma fortaleza medieval lindíssima. Dentro da muralha tem lojas, restaurantes, músicos, muita gente nas ruas estreitas. Imagino que o movimento devia ser assim na época medieval. A mente da gente viaja enquanto caminhamos, imaginando o local nos tempos antigos.
Tem igrejas dentro da muralha que podem ser visitadas. É possível percorrer a muralha do alto e tirar boas fotos.

We loved this medieval village! Oozing with charm and history. We found a wonderful walking guide in Obidos. Born and raised (and that is rare in Obidos!), his English is perfect. He can be reached through the Literary Man Hotel. We climbed the wall to walk alomg the top at several points whilst he told stories of growing up in Obidos. Loads of restaurants and great food. This town is ALL coblestone though so it would not be a good choice for anyone with mobility challenges (walkers, etc).

Wir waren an einem Wochentag Anfang Mai in Obidos. Selbst morgens war der Ort schon total überlaufen. Zumeist einheimische Touristen wurden mit Bussen ausgeladen und in Gruppen durch den Ort geführt. Viel Ramsch und Kitsch Geschäfte. Nur auf Tourismus getrimmt. In Sintra war gefühlt weniger los oder man hatte dort mehr Platz. Positiv war der große Parkplatz. Negativ, dass die Burg nur von außen zu besichtigen ist, da sich dort ein Hotel drin befindet.

This is a delightful walled town to visit as it has many attractions contained in a relatively small space. This a variety of buildings accessed via narrow cobbled streets and plenty of bars, restaurants and shops, however it is basically a tourist attraction so in season it is packed with coach loads of visitors.
You get everything from churches to a castle but you most certainly will not get a view of real Portuguese rural living.

In planning our Portugal trip, I read so many reviews about the beautiful little Obidos visit and decided to spend a night here in Castle/Cottage (more on that separately).
The town itself is very small and beautiful. Littered with cute tourist shops and restaurants throughout. One of the truly unique aspects is being able to walk along the full length of the wall. While it's not incredibly scary, it's still exhilarating to walk without a railing on the walls of an ancient castle!
I'd say that Obidos is definitely worth a full day stop, but that an overnight stay was not necessary. There's not a terrible amount of stuff to do/see in the village and the restaurants are exceedingly average for the price. We spent our time just meandering the streets and a great amount of time just sitting and soaking up the sun.
Transit wise:
- we took the bus from Lisbon departing from Campo Grande. It was only 8 EURO and super clean, on time, fast, and efficient! The bus stopped right in front of the city and was super convenient.
- we departed from the train station to Coimbra. While the train station looked dilapidated and abandoned, it's still in operations :) Just note that we weren't able to hail an Uber from Obidos, so we had to walk down with our suitcases (about a 10-15 minute walk - so plan for that if taking the train!)

Quello di Obidos è un borgo murato davvero splendido con la sua porta principale decorata con azulejos, il castello, le chiese trasformate in libreria, le case bianche rifinite in azzurro e giallo, i tanti negozietti che affollano la Rua Direita e i locali dove si gusta la Ginja, il famoso liquore di ciliegie. Nella settimana di Pasqua era ancor più suggestivo con le cappelle della Via Crucis aperte, i decori di palme o floreali. E il tutto in una splendida giornata di Aprile.

Llegamos a Óbidos para comer y poco más y nos quedamos toda la tarde porque nos encantó. El pueblo se encuentra dentro de una fortificación, y tiene mucho turismo en la calle. Muchos restaurantes, iglesias para visitar (gratis), y un montón de tiendas de souvenirs y por supuesto los chupitos de ginja, bebida típica totalmente de este pueblo. No me gusto que había una especie de casetas en las afueras del castillo que son utilizadas en una fiesta que hacen en Navidad y al parecer no las desmontan de un año a otro, pero el encanto del pueblo es superior a este error. Visita muy agradable.

Un borgo medioevale ben conservato, con una cinta di mura percorribili a piedi, vicoli stretti e caratteristici.
Durante la settimana Santa vengono aperte le cappelle della via Crucis in genere chiuse.
Da non perdere l'assaggio del liquore locale, la Ginja, a base di una specie di amarena

My husband and I traveled alone but used Taxi Obidos for the ride from Lisbon to Obidos, and then used his whole-day custom tour service to see Fatima, Nazareth and other nearby seaside towns. He was very knowledgeable, had a comfortable car, and customized it to our preferences. His name is Clif. I would readily use him again. taxisobidos

Drive up to the entrance of Obidos village is on the right side a payed parking. It is not expensive and there are gards walking around.

There is a large parking lot as you approach the main gate to the town, can’t miss it. Pay from 9 am to 8 pm but free on weekends.

Gostaria de ficar uma ou duas noites dentro da cidade mas estarei viajando de carro grande (4 pessoas + bagagem). Já soube que existe estacionamento fora das muralhas mas tenho as seguintes dúvidas:
1) quanto custaria a diária do estacionamento
2) como levar a bagagem do estacionamento até o hotel dentro da cidade (li que é possível levar o carro até o hotel, deixar a bagagem e voltar para o estacionamento, mas quero ter certeza do que é verdade. Gostaria de ouvir a experiência de quem já fez isso)
