Hamlets castle is certainly beautiful and has many interesting features. However, but it was hard to find my way around the site in English. During my visit, I asked about an interesting throne at the end of the hall that had no sign or explanation to it in the guide. I was told there was additional information on the website for all exhibits. It looks like asking even one question is frowned upon if you don't want to pay a lot of money for a guided tour. The castle appeared to be missing quite a few exhibits pieces that were supposed to be there. I left feeling disappointed with not really “learning” much that I could tell others about.
Even with these problems, the castle is still a must-see because it gives a stunning look into history. But its management isn't as good as it is at other castles we've seen. A guided walk might be the best way to make sure everything goes smoothly and keep you from getting lost.

Nice to place too see. Not what I was expecting it had a more modern feel than what I anticipated; however, it was nice to see and learn about the history it is a definite too do in my opinion

Muy sencillo por dentro puesto que solo vivian a temporadas algunos de los reyes principalmente en el siglo xvi y xvii
Posteriormente fue cuartel militar y carcel
Se ven las orillas de Suecia desde las ventanas del castillo
Es el punto mas cercano a Suecia en el extrecho de Oresun
En los sotanos esta la estatua del heroe nacional Holger que fue un vikingo que segun la leyenda de despertara y cogera su espada si Dinamarca es amenazada
Posteriormente fue cuartel militar y carcel

Excelent tour ! Highly recommended ! Our Guide Fanny was awesome! Gave us a lot of details and explained us the history of Copenhagen ! We did the 3 hours walking tour , is a superb way to have a quick glimpse of the main spot of the city. Thanks Fanny and Laura from Dinturia for the experience!

Hemos hecho la visita a los castillos de Frederiksborg y Kronborg, además de la visita a Malmö. Nos ha resultado muy interesante, y especial mención a la guia “Catalina” que nos ha demostrado su gran conocimiento de Dinamarca, no sólo de su historia sino que también de su cultura.

Hemos hecho un free tour por Copenhague con Jorge, de 3 horas. Super-recomendable. El tour super para conocer lo esencial de la ciudad y Jorge muy atento, muy bien explicado todo y super-agradable. Recomendable 100%

We had an amazing three hour walking tour of Copenhagen with Martin. Martin had both great knowledge of the city, ability to entertain and engaged with people's questions while keeping the tour moving.
Tours like these are why I love free walking tours and think they can be an amazing way to get to know a city. Thanks so much Martin!

Elsinore Castle is probably impressive. But we were on a tour from a cruise and didn’t have enough time to do it satisfactorily. We were shown the outside. A metal model. Then allowed 10 minutes to explore. Totally unsatisfactory. Especially as a large part of it was covered by scaffolding.
Assuming the history of how it commanded the waters required a trip to the earthworks by us, there was too little time. OK the inside had been stripped bare, but those of us who had visited 100’s of similar fortifications, elsewhere, would have appreciated being able to stand there, and imagine.
How do I rate a place I was taken to, yet not allowed in ?
I blame the tour company for not allowing sufficient time.
Our tour could have been a couple of hours longer, and so much better for it.

Amazing free walking tour (remember to pay the deserved tip at the end!!) With our local guide Martin.
3 hours flew by in a bit. Extremely entertaining, mixing historical information and nowadays news.
Wet loved it immensely.
