‪Fantastic experience, the only driving experience that I’ve been to where you are actively encouraged to go as fast as you are capable. I have been twice now and the second time didn’t disappoint‬

‪Great day but so disappointed with the bmw m2 track experience. If you want low quality boorish instruction please book. The instructor I had was simply dreadfully that ruined what should have been an amazing day,‬

‪NOT a BAD Experience but at the same time wasn't to the standards that anyone expects out of race track
Weather was not in our favour, track is bumpy and one can see accumulated water on the track, Few riders were really nasty and though so many volunteers observing the knocking off other riders they didn't bother to flag such menaces. That distracts one's concentration on track.‬

‪I booked my teenage son onto an MSV Junior Driving Experience Day. This is a review really of MSV, the booking confirmation only came through a day or so before the event, after I had booked 2 months ahead and called to say 'where is my info pack'. On the day, the signposting to the event is poor, no one was on the main gate to ask for directions, there was no 'phone number on the pack to ask for help, or even a local number to call. The main track switchboard was shut, the reception was locked up. There was no mention in the marketing material that my son would be sharing the experience with 2-3 strangers. Once again with these companies, they do not put the information together with the customer in mind.‬

‪Your foot comes off the brake, your whole body leans towards the corner in hungry anticipation. Eyes already wide, absorbing everything as it rushes towards you in ultra high definition except this isn’t television. The car you’ve just blown by on the inside is now behind you somewhere, already disregarded - you might as well have wiped them off the face of the earth as it’s all about this next turn. Everything is tugging you to the right as you turn the car to the left, forcing it to go where you want it to. It’s not like the nimble little Clios that needed just the lightest of touches to coax them through the corner before a footful of gas sends them hurtling towards the red and white curbs and the rumblestrip beyond. No, this baby has downforce and big sticky tyres. It’s pressed into the ground. You can take more speed. You don’t have to manhandle it. You keep telling yourself that. You keep telling yourself that it will go where you tell it to but it’s hard - there’s so much power, and noise, and emotion that you must, surely you must have to wring it’s bloody neck out.
There’s the apex. There’s no agonising wait this time, no feathering of the throttle and holding yourself back until you can see the exit curb. No, this is big time instant joy. The straight opens up to the insatiable roar of the V6 engine. Brake, firm but brief, down a gear, off the brake. Turn in, clip the apex, get on that power and hang on for dear life. The exit curb rushes towards you, hell the whole world rushes towards you as the engine roars it’s approval. The car is half over the curb, onto the rumble strip. The row of lights on the dash shoot to the right and, foot pinned to the carbon fibre tub you grab another gear.
The marshalls post on your right doesn’t register, all you see is the brake board on the left as you angle the car towards it, foot still flat. Except you don’t brake. Knowing that the downforce has you here is important because this leads onto the straight, the big one with the hairpin at the end. So you trust the car, lifting off the gas and downshifting, easing it towards the apex on the right. It sails past, you hit the power and charge up the gears, third to fourth to fifth as the hairpin looms. Your helmet is being lifted by the wind but the car hugs you tight, it embraces and encompasses you. You’re strapped in, lying almost horizontal. It was uncomfortable at first, claustrophobic even, but now it just feels so right, so natural. The engine is screaming, the lights are all on - should I go for sixth?
The brake sign flashes past, but you’re not in one of the BMWs, you can’t leave it another 25 or 30 feet before getting on the pedal. You brake hard, the car on it’s nose as you flick down one, two, three gears and turn in. The apex is late here, marked by a plastic orange bollard that sways warily as you swing towards it. It’s the slowest point of the track and you want to get on the power but you remember the LMP race where you went up the inside of someone and got on the throttle too early, sending you pirouetting around. You have to wait until… Now! Hard on the throttle, that glorious throaty howl, the world leaping at you once again. There's a thousand tiny pieces of gravel pinging off the underside of the tub before the staccato br-r-r-r-rup of the serrated curb and you’re flying down the straight, grabbing up gears as you hurtle towards the scariest corner, the chicane where you just keep accelerating, even when your body is screaming for you to brake. It’s insane this one. Could your eyes get any wider?? You brake on the apex, showing such disdain for something that calls itself a corner. It’s a short brake, firm and it feels far too brief. You flick down a gear and trust the car to kiss the white line although it’s all too easy to miss it and find yourself drifting onto the grass on the left. There’s another short straight with your foot flat, gearbox punching your kidneys each time you change up then it’s the languid drawn out fourth-gear esses where you can feather the thottle in between but don’t plant your foot until you’re halfway round the top curve. Boom, off you go, the car naturally sliding out towards the curb as you stare down the straight, pulling it back across the track for the next entry. And it’s a fast straight, another top speed one as by the end of it you’re up to fifth, maybe sixth but it’s a close call. Your helmet is tugging at it’s straps again and there’s some sort of marshall post to the right but all you think about is braking and turning in. This is the one. Down two gears, late turn in, the apex is there, ahead of you but my god is it taking it’s time. As soon as you reach it you can bury your foot again, take the car to the rumble strip and shriek at the scenery as you hurtle down the straight. And now we’re back where we started, that’s a whole lap of the central circuit in the F3000 car. But I don’t want to stop, I don’t want to stop reliving it because it’s my favourite complex coming up. A firm but short brake, down a gear, turn it in, take a whole lot of curb and floor it, the instructors voice shouting ‘Go! Go! Go!’ in your ear every time you’re here, even though you’re on your own. It’s a corner for the committed- it rewards bravery and it’s the secret to a great laptime on the West Circuit at the Bedford Autodrome. Christ, I was only there for a day and it’s all I can think about.
I’m not going to lie, the cars were the best bit, but the attention to detail at this place was world class and everyone who works there, the hosts, the instructors, the caterers, they were all fantastic. Their enthusiasm, their spirit, their passion, shone through in everything. Steve McQueen once said ‘When you race cars you’re alive, the rest of the time you’re just waiting.’ And these guys make it happen. I can’t wait to come back.‬

‪Signed onto the MSV trackday on the 29th April and was not dissapointed. Track is fun with some technical corners which made for a great drive. Facilities were nice and clean and the staff very friendly. Cafe food was great with decent portions too!‬

‪It was my first visit to Bedford Autodrome to attend a bike track day organised by MSV. The day itself was well run and organised, but the layout of the pits is strange (you can’t leave any cars or vans near the pits and have to park about a quarter of a mile away). The track layout is fast and flat, but because it’s heavily used by cars it’s very bumpy in places, especially towards the end of the longer straights. Despite this I would recommend a visit, just be prepared for a long walk if you leave anything in your van!‬

‪What a great track for a day out with your own motor. Well organised, friendly and helpful staff. Plus a 4.2 mile testing circuit with 3 (yes 3) challenging hairpins and some very fast corners as well. Just make sure your brakes are in good condition. ‬
