Amazing tour - mountain crossing, small rivers, lush paths and long stretches perfect for tölt or gallop. We loved the horses, the nature and last but not least, our guide (Linnea). Our best Iceland experience!!!

My husband and I snuck in a 1 hour riding tour before we had to head to the airport, and I’m so glad we did. Our guide was Karina, and she was so thoughtful about selecting our horses (who were both very sweet and friendly as well), knowledgeable about the horses and the land, and super kind and friendly. She took photos and videos for us so we could focus on riding and soaking in the beautiful scenery. We also of course got to experience the tölt, which was super fun and exhilarating. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

Amazing!! If I could give this experience 10 stars, I would! Doing a private tour with Icelandic Riding exceeded our expectations! Our guide, Linnea, was so friendly and personable. She was very knowledgeable and you could feel her love for the horses. This tour is booked with a family owned farm which made it even more special. We were able to go out to the pasture to help herd the horses as well as brush, saddle and bridle our horses which allowed us to build a relationship with our horse before riding. It didn't feel rushed at all and having that personal attention from Linnea was priceless. The trail we took was breathtakingly beautiful with a wide variety of scenery. A rider of any experience would feel safe as the horses were so gentle and well-behaved. I can't say enough about how much we loved this experience! Take the private tour, it's so worth it!!

FANTASTIC! A one on one experience. The place was a bit tricky to find, but the experience was great. A lovely ride, with magnificent views. My guide was friendly and professional.

A true experience! We had a great time at Icelandic Riding what a knowledgeable guide and interesting place. This place is so unique and so different from all the typical tourist destinations. The horses are happy and full of character. Thank you Jonina for sharing your stories, horses and time with us! We will be back :)

The owners cousin ( I can't remember her name 😣) was our amazing guide! She spent the time at the beginning talking to us to make sure she put us on horses that would fit our experience levels best so we would all be safe on our ride! My husband has minimal experience and got to ride Freddy, who he absolutely loved! He wasn't excited about this excursion prior to, and had never really loved horses, but was talking about how great Freddy was for DAYSSSS! I grew up helping with/riding my neighbors horses, and have a little more experience (riding in the US with western saddles). I was with a beautiful sweet/calm mare who was feeling a little bit sassy that day (she sometimes wanted to decide where we were going/how fast we were going and needed a little redirection).
We had a little rain to start our ride but had great weather and beautiful views for the majority, right up until about 5 minutes before we arrived back at the facility when the skies opened and poured on us, but we still had the best time!
*It is SO SO important to listen to your guide!! They're trying to keep riders and horses safe! Be honest with them about your experience levels!! Saying you have lots of experience when you've only ridden a few times can end up hurting you or your horse! Horses are living breathing animals and can be dangerous, listening to your guide is the best way to keep everyone safe!!

Highly recommend this private riding tour! Our guide Karina was extremely knowledgeable, competent, and friendly. After talking with everyone in our group individually, she picked out our horses and explained why she matched them up with us. She also described each horse's personality, and told us what to expect from them on the tour. The horses were very well trained and had wonderful temperaments. The scenery was so beautiful! This was my favorite activity on our trip.

Wonderful experience both for an experienced rider and beginner. Horses were well mannered and well trained. Scenery was extraordinary on valley and hill ride. Linnea led us through our ride calmly and professionally!

Good morning,
We are renting a car and will be driving from downtown Reykjavik. How long should it take us and can you provide directions? Can we park at your location? We are about to book for Monday, June 27th. I wasn't sure what time to book the tour. We are really looking forward to it!!

Hi
My daughter (13) is a keen and regular rider but the rest of us (husband, son and I) don't ride. She does get frustrated on treks where it all happens at the pace of the slowest rider. Could she go without one of us with her ? Would she be bored on a mixed ability ride? What opportunities would she have to go faster and try 'tolt'?

Hi Jo, we specialise in private tours. That way we feel able to customise the tour to our guests expectations and ability level. We would love to have your daughter riding with us and I can assure you that she would be able to try the tölt and we would do all we can to make sure the ride is fun and that se wont get bored.

We will try to run tours if the weather will be in our favour. The day light will be limited, so if you are interested in riding with us at this time of the year please book in advance, as we can only run one tour a day in Dec-Jan.
