We were passing this square at leat two times a day due to the location of our hotel. It has nothing interesting to show. A very cold, dark and full of garbage place. Its a shame for such city and area not to be well preserved

One of my favourite areas. Lots of history. If you happen to be around at 10pm, each evening music is played to accompany the dancing fountains. Absolutely delightful. Especially in the summer months, when Maltese families visit to cool off, listen to the music and watch their children playing in the water.

Durante la visita alla Valletta ci siamo imbattuti in questa piazza molto ampia di fronte al Palazzo del Granmaestro. L'abbiamo vista a fine dicembre di domenica mentre si stava svolgendo una dimostrazione della polizia con gli strumenti usati per lavoro e altro, quindi molto caotica e piena.

A must see place in Valletta with buildings with amazing and typical for the city architecture around it. It is right in the center of Valletta, so there are quite a lot of bars and restaurants nearby.

Visitando la capitale vi imbatterete in questa elegante e ampia piazza ben tenuta e conservata,vale la pena spenderci 10 minuti del vostro tempo almeno per le classiche foto di rito.

Spacerując ulicą Republiki od Bramy Miejskiej na północ w kierunku Fortu św. Elma napotykamy mniej więcej w połowie drogo na duży plac. Plac leży po lewej stronie ulicy a po prawej mamy mury Pałacu Wielkiego Mistrza, w którym teraz rezyduje prezydent kraju. Na środku placu znajduje się fontanna, a na jego północno-zachodnim krańcu przodem do Pałacu Wielkiego Mistrza stoi budynek Main Guard czyli siedziba osobistej ochrony Wielkiego Mistrza. Obecnie w budynku mieści się biuro prokuratora generalnego Malty. Na pozostałych bokach placu dominuje niska zabudowa z czasów kolonialnych.

[dic. 19]E' una bella piazza, tranquilla, pulita e abbastanza ampia dovi si può passeggiare tranquillamente e raggiungere vari altri posti della città. Vale la pena passarci e passeggiarci.

Inaspettatamente perchè tutti i vicoli di quella zona sono piuttosto stretti, e quindi trovarsi all'improvviso in uno spiazzo di quelle dimensioni lascia un po' disorientati...
La Piazza è un po' spoglia nonostante la presenza della fontana con i getti all'altezza del pavimento. Andrebbe valorizzata di più.

Pleasant square in the centre of Valetta surrounded by low rise colonial architecture. Is frequently used for outside events so quite often blocked off whilst stages are built and taken down so only accessible for a couple of days during our week-long stay. There are plenty of restaurants and bars thereabouts including in the Republican Square next door and you get a good view down into the area from the balconies of the Casino Maltese on the South Western corner of the square.
