The Cinematheque will recommence showings a lot of old films but now organise a Drive -In cinema on Glacis every evening from 17 July till 1 of August;
Before the old Cienematheque, on the place of Theatre is returned the urban beach of last year, a beach in town, to relax, for young visitors

Loin de bling-bling et du tape à l'oeil, la cinémathèque regorge de trésors.
Le décor est toujours appréciable, le personne charmant et les films à l'affiche sont souvent des pépites.

Old school cinema which includes type of films (mainly re-runs of high quality movies), chairs (if the main floor is full you have to sit on the balcony where the chairs are for sure older than you are and not very comfortable) and price of tickets. I paid 3.75 last time and I think you can get it even cheaper if you buy several tickets.
In all it is a fantastic place that takes you back in time. Highly recommended.

Ci siamo finiti per caso in questa piazzetta ed è stata una bella sorpresa. Se vi capita di avvicinarvi come zona passate.

Superbe salle de cinéma à l.ancienne, avec un balcon. Excellente pRogrammation thématique. Prix très très doux pour vous transporter dans cet univers magique.

Présentations de films anciens et dispose de 10.000 exemplaires de copies dans ses archives; différentes expositions ; pendant l'été on organise des open air performances: la cinématèque fût fondé en 1977.

La Cinémathèque puise dans ses archives pour présenter une diversité de rétrospectives monographiques (hommages à des réalisateurs et acteurs) ou thématiques (cycles et réflexions sur l'histoire du cinéma). Les puristes seront content : la plupart des films sont en version originale sous-titrés. Elle propose aussi des événements spéciaux : des ciné-conférences, débats et tables rondes, des projets jeune public et activités troisième âge, des ciné-concerts et des festivals.
En été, elle offre une série de projections gratuites de films populaires en plein air devant le Palais Grand-Ducal.
