We toured the winery and had the opportunity to taste 5 of their wines. They start you in a room with the map on the floor and you can see where the wine producing areas are in this part of Austria. They talked about the terroir and showed examples of the ground that the wine is grown in. Heading down into the where the wine is crushed and stored was next along with more tastings. Finally a 3D movie to show you a wine year from beginning to end.
Finally you get to the end and have the ability to purchase wine. We also learned that this wine is imported to the US and can be bought at Total Wine. We will have to look into this.

A fascinating journey into the world of wines. The tour takes you into the vineyards with explanations about various sorts grown in the Wachau then an indoor tour of the area on a floor map. Wine tasting, of course all along the way and then a fantastic 3-D movie about the growing of wine in the area. It all concludes with the opportunity to purchase wines --- and taste others, if you'd like. The tour is offered in German and English, however for English, be sure to check as that's not every day. The man doing the tour spoke excellent English and the tour was great. This is a MUST if you're in the area and interested in wine.

We toured the Winzer Krems winery as part of our River Cruise adventure. The tour was very informative, and is in a beautiful setting. Definitely worth a visit !

Wir würden von einer sehr kompetenten Dame durch das “Museum” geführt. Schöne Darstellung der Weinanbaugebiete, informativ, aber auch spannende Einführung in den Weinanbaugebiete und die Produktion von diesem. Gute Weinprobe. Auf Fragen wurde eingegangen.

I held an event on the Danube and arranged for a private winery tour for my group of approximately 60 attendees. The staff here was very helpful and accommodating!
We arrived and immediately were escorted down a wooden plank walkway to a covered patio surrounded by grapevines. We were each provided a tasting of one of their white wines - Gruner Veltliner. It was extremely refreshing and well received by everyone. And a beautiful setting!
We then walked to the winery building and were taken through the facility. We were taken into a room that had a floor that lit up of the entire region; along with the wines that they produce in the area. Eventually we walked down some stairs to where wine is stored; and they played a pre-programmed presentation complete with lights, fog and scents. It was quite elaborate and a surprise.
We then walked further into the cellar to view different wine barrels. We tasted another wine while down there, and viewed the production facility. Finally we were escorted to an area where we enjoyed a last wine to taste, and further details of the winery. The tour concluded in the gift shop where you can purchase additional tastings or bottles of wine or sparkling; along with chocolate bars produced by the winery.
I would highly recommend. Totally state of the art and first class tour!

When you pull into the parking lot, you may think you made a mistake but wait, you did not. The tour, which included sever wine tastings, was very interesting and the guide did a terrific job of explaining the wine making process. Also included is a short 3-D movie that covers the four seasons of the wine making year.

Nous avons adoré la visite de cette Cave coopérative. C’est actuellement les vendanges et il y a de la vie et l’activité.
Notre guide était génial! Il a su nous transmettre sa passion du vin (pas seulement du vin autrichien) avec un dynamisme incroyable. Nous avons même pu échanger quelques mots de Français.
La visite en 6 étapes est très interactive, un bon mix entre visite de vignoble traditionnel (découverte des cépages de Krems, du terrain, des différentes étapes) et modernité (animations sonores, cinéma 4D).

Visited as part of our Avalon Cruise package. An excellent informative and also amusing tour. Very well presented. Would definitely recommend.

We’re coming in on a Viking ship on Sept 18. I’m not sure what time we arrive in Krems, as we cruise the Wachau Valley before we get there. I see we can take the bus to you. Will we have time for a good visit, and what is the cost? Thanks.

thanks for your request. We offer tours in English on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 11:15 am.
Unfortunately, there is no English tour at Wednesday, Sept 18th.
On Sept 18th, there are German tours at 10 am and 2pm. Our staff is used to translating to English. Please send a new request by e-mail to sandgrube13weinsinn@winzerkrems.at to be sure to get a tour.

We are booked on a viking cruise on danube. During Krems stopm, we are thinking about touring a winery close by. How far away from where the river boat docks is this winery?

From Krems ship station No.25, it takes approx. 20 mins by taxi to the winery (depends on traffic). Only 4-5 km away.
