‪St. Michael's Church Austria‬

‪Take your time to explore the church, one could feel overwhelmed initially but there are displays in English that assist in understanding the centuries of history before you.

St. Michael's Church in Vienna has unique catacombs where bodies do not decompose. Portions of the church date to 1200's.

We visited the small Christmas market that was held outside the church, one that I do not recommend going out of your way for.‬

‪Bella chiesa accanto all’Hofburg, (come d’altronde quasi tutto quello visto a Vienna), belli gli affreschi, un po’ buia, però merita una pausa di raccoglimento.‬

‪Architectually this church is not as impressive as the imposing St. Stephen's Cathedral.

On a smaller scale the Saint Michael's Church is one of the oldest churches in Vienna, Austria. Its one of fewRomanesque buildings remaining.

The location is at Michaelerplatz across from the Hofburg Palace.

It has a mixture of achitectural styles such as late Romanesque, early Gothic.

It dates back to 1220–1240 so has a lot of history..

The interior consists of two aisles of ancient Gothic structure.‬

‪La chiesa di San Michele é una delle chiese piú belle di Vienna, noi l´abbiamo in tarda serata e poi di giorno.L´atmosfera che si ha di seraquando la chiesa é deserta é ualcose di veramente unico.Questa chiesa é anche una delle prime chiese di Vienne costruita dal 1219 al 1221 é anche delle pochissime chiese romaniche di questa cittá.Splendido l´altare maggiore, la chiesa é conosciuta sopratutto per la cripta e le sue mummie , che per cause naturali invece di decomporsi negli anni si sono mummificate, secondo me é assolutamente da vedere , come quasi tutte le chiese di Vienna.‬

‪Better than the Cathedral‬

‪If you enjoy history then this church is better than the Cathedral. The collection of original frescos in this church is impressive. You truly get a sense of how beautifully colorful a medieval church must have been. In addition, the sculpture and artwork is impressive. This church is for the history lover. Please take time to notice the original medieval women’s entrance door and the cross fro Auschwitz. You don’t need a tour guide. As you walk through the church pull up their detailed website, where each part of the church is explained in great detail. It’s very quiet without many tourist given it’s right on the square. I was in the church alone most of my visit. They do allow photos . I spent about 1-1 1/2 here but I like to linger and also sit and reflect on the beauty. Very doable for the elderly but children would be quite bored .‬

‪Questa chiesa si trova in Michaelerplatz quasi di fronte all’ingresso di Hofburg. Molto bella ( come ogni Chiesa/ palazzo/ museo/ edificio / piazza/ strada in cui si ci imbatte a Vienna ) . Entrateci perché merita una visita.‬

‪Amazing ‬

‪I went here twice, once during the day and once at night. It was nice both but amazing at night. It’s so old looking and gives a person the coolest feeling and sense of religion. I loved it. I’ve been to numerous churches in Europe and this is one of the best.‬

‪Chiesa di St. Micheal‬

‪La chiesa St Michael si trova nel centro di Vienna stile romanico con spunti barocchi, si trova anche un maestoso organo, nella parte laterale della chiesa ci sono molte opere da quadri a statue.
La chiesa è famosa per la sua cripta, perché invece di decomporsi i corpi, si mummificano.
Nella zona dell’altare si sentivano canti corali, molto suggestivi.‬

‪This is a beautiful church with an imposing altar. The organ is not to be ignored either. This one is one of the 3 main churches in Vienna. Worth a visit.‬
