Although it was a wet day when we visited, the cable car ride was smooth and the views got better and better as we travelled up. At the top it was windy but the panoramic views were just stunning and something I’ll never forget! Would highly recommend!

The day we were there the lift was not crowded nor was the restaurant. Although it was an overcast day the views were well worth cost of the ticket.

Vi tog mod till oss och åkte linbanan hit upp. Det var verkligen värt det dyra priset. Utsikten var så fin!

Grym utsikt över fjorden och bra standard på restaurangen. Rejäla gondolliftar upp. Något mer som var grymt var prislappen på gondolerna upp och maten.

Stunning panoramic view at the top. The restaurant up there is absolutely lovely as well. Highly recommend taking the cable car if you're in Narvik.

Härifrån får ni utsikt över både Narvik och omgivande kust. Mycket givande att promenera runt här uppe. Man kan även ta sig en bit mat här om man vill. (Vi hann precis med det innan de stängde.) Det kostar litet grand att åka upp hit dock... Så låt det vara er tröskel. Känns den inte hög för er, så rekommenderar jag er absolut att åka upp!

Vi tok gondolen opp og vi fikk en flott utsikt. Ikke solskinn men klart vær og vi fikk sett langt. Hele Narvik, fjella, fjorden og alt som er.

We were lucky to take the lift up on a sunny day. The view was excellent and worth the time to get up there.

Does Narvikfjellet ski resort open in December? I am thinking of a visit weekend of 14-15 Dec 2019.

There's talk that the old and new locations for taking the cable car up the mountain are different. How do I find the new one? I'm confused as some say it's the one close to Best Western Hotel and others say it's the one up the Fjellveien street (about 250m above sea level).

Hi, we plane to visit Narvik and Bogen for 10 days for Nortern Lights .
Do we have to book tickets for cable car in advance or we can buy at the station on the day we go.

The information about the cable car you already got is correct. Regarding season for Northern Light the caveat is not the light itself, but your ability to see it. You will need a clear dark sky. The weaker the light the darker and clearer the sky must be to see it. Factors to consider are time of the year, likely weather conditions and amount of moon light.
Another factor to consider this year is that the cable car will be renewed. The new car is scheduled to open 21st December. Taking all these factors into consideration I would recommend that you aim for January, February or March.
