We took the self guided tour of the 3 countries. It was very well detailed in the itinerary with all the instructions necessary to find the hotel and important buildings. All our transportation was already booked and well managed. We did extend our stay a little on our own as well.

Booked with AS the Norway in the Nutshell tour, incl the northern lights & few other tours at Tromso. I booked with them just for the convenience of logistics’ planning, as I could have booked directly with the supplier. Yet, I deeply regret it!!
So the fjord cruise supplier made a change to the itinerary, where the docking point is moved to another point due to icy water. This requires me to hop on a bus to get there instead of a boat as per the original itenarary, yet I was not informed via any email & ended up missing out on the more scenic cruise of the Naeroyfjord’s side. So I was only offered the tail end of the cruise which is from the docking point back to Flam. So, essentially, I missed out 40 mins of the best part of the cruise.
I only got to know about the email when some ppl on board told me they receive email fr the supplier but I didn’t since AS did not provide my email to the supplier who would have otherwise email me directly. AS claimed they never rcv any email from the supplier (Norway’s Best).
From blaming the supplier for not informing them on the changes, AS was just defensive from the start to end. Now they told me they will find out exactly what went wrong with Norway’s Best before proceeding with the next course of action. On the phone, the staff did say that they will request for refund since I only do part of the cruise & said the refund, if any, will take a long time.
Instead of blaming the supplier, AS cld hv given my email addr to the supplier so they can email me too. Or, if that’s not allowed, AS cld hv ensured that the administrative details or the co-ordination with suppliers is done more thoroughly. If it was so, how could this have happened? In this trip, I had also separately booked with other agents incl fr trip advisor as I extended my stay, yet their communications with me are smooth & up to date
But is a refund really what we wanted when we hv travelled all the way fr Singapore & having spent so much but to missed out on an UNESCO heritage site? Yet, do I have choice but to move on since my next tours are all back to back I can’t repeat the cruise the next day?
So here comes the finger pointing between the supplier & AS. AS blamed the supplier but supplier’s driver ended up raising his voice on us saying we are the ones to blame as Norway’s Best had ady sent out emails to everyone yet AS claimed they didn’t rcv any?
The irony is I was able to board Norway’s Best’s 2nd bus just 8 minutes after I missed the 1st bus. The 2nd bus driver even called the 1st driver to inform him to get the boat to wait for another 4 stranded ppl who are otw. Yet, when we reached the dock just a mere 5 mins late, we saw the boat just starting to sail off which is just 5 meters away from us. So I call out to the 1st driver to contact the boat captain to turn around for us since the boat is so near to us. But he claimed he can’t make the call, yet just 5 mins later, he told us the captain will pick us up at the tail end of the cruise. So why did he first tell us he can’t contact the captain yet he’s able to do so just minutes later?
Another irony - bus driver claimed the boat can’t turn around for us as the cruise will be running late, yet the captain was able to stop for us at the tail end of the cruise but not at the start? Wldnt it take an equal amt of time to pick us up at the end if he had just picked us at the start? Either way still takes up the same amt of time, no? This makes no sense & just doesn’t add up at all.
When I asked the crew on board, they blamed the driver as he had allegedly told them that there were no more passengers. The amount of finger pointing between the diff parties is just “phenomenal” but the customers are the biggest losers in the end. I guess for them, we are just merely the small occasional casualty that don’t mean a thing. For the crew , this just merely a job as long as the job gets done, they don’t really care.
I truly learnt my lesson to just book directly from a supplier the next time. I won’t recommend this tour booking agent at all, pls avoid them!

I went on the Oslo, Bergen fjord 4 day self guided tour expertly organised by Authentic Scandinavia. I would highly recommend this company if you want the convenience of someone to book accommodation and transport for you. Correspondence with their team over email was always professional and pleasant, and they kept me updated on the booking and sent a detailed itinerary including restaurant recommendations.
For anyone interested in this particular trip, I spent three nights in Oslo which was the ideal length as my flight arrived mid afternoon giving me two full days in Oslo. I recommend staying overnight in beautiful Fläm, two nights if you can afford it. I stayed three nights in Bergen, a relaxed relatively small city. Two nights would be sufficient if not using it as a base to visit fjords.
If I’m fortunate enough to get the chance to visit Norway again, I will definitely use the Authentic Scandinavia tour company.

Sono rientrato da poco da un meraviglioso viaggio in Norvegia avendo acquistato un pacchetto tra i tanti offerti da Authentic Scandinavia. Dire che mi sono trovato bene è riduttivo, non ho avuto alcun problema durante tutto il mio soggiorno. Tutto è stato perfettamente allineato al programma che mi hanno inviato, dalle prenotazioni alberghiere con gli upgrade richiesti ai trasferimenti: in treno, battello e bus. Non ho avuto alcun problema e quindi mi sento di rigraziare tutto lo staff ed in particolare le signore Nora e Victoria, che mi hanno sempre assistito e su cui ho potuto sempre contare. Spero di avvalermi quanto prima di nuovo dei loro servizi e sicuramente suggerirò la loro organizzazione a quanti vorranno conoscere i paesi scandinavi.

What an amazing trip. Planned to perfection by authentic Scandiavia. After selecting our trip and excursions we were sent a detailed itinerary explaining everything. Loved the country and the way our self guided trip enabled us to experience the culture and scenery of amazing Norway.

We took the Golden Route trip arranged by Authentic Scandinavia in July 2023. It was a wonderfully scenic experience. Traveled by trains, buses, ferries, and cruise ship. All connections were well planned and easily managed with backpacks and rolling carry-on luggage. We liked that the major planning was done for us. Accommodations were convenient, comfortable, clean and provided amazing breakfast buffets. We liked that we had the freedom to customize our time in each destination and options to modify the trip. We liked that we were not part of a large group moving around museums or attractions on a set schedule. We had a detailed itinerary provided by Authentic Scandinavia prior to departure which was adequate. They were responsive prior to departure by email and provided 24 hour support/contact numbers for use during the trip which we did not need.

I just returned from the wonderful adventure on the Inland Railway and visiting the three beautiful cities of Stockholm, Tallinn and Helsinki.
Starting from communication, organization and itinerary, everything was excellent.
The communication with Authentic Scandinavia was very good from the beginning, I received answers to all the questions I had before booking this excursion-adventure.
The organization and itinerary very well and detailed ... as if I did it myself ...
The booked hotels were exactly as I imagined, the rooms are superb, clean, equipped with everything they need. And especially very close to the train station - 10 minutes' walk.
The train reservations were very well chosen so that you have time to visit the city in detail between two trains.

The trip exceeded my expectations. Authentic Scandinavia had everything planned perfectly. The hotels were all 4 star. The transportation was ideal and their 15 page instructions covered everything from directions to the hotels and recommendations for restaurants.

hi there Im planning to visit in July and would like to ask how to go about the 3 city tours, we plan to start and fly in from manila to oslo , then sweden and then helsinki where we will then get our flight back to manila.
If we get the 3 city tour, is there someone who will meet us at the airport in oslo upon arrival? or we get instructions from your company on how to go to hotel etc? would love to hear from you . thanks!

Dear Flormir, thanks a lot for your message and interest in travelling with Authentic Scandinavia.
Our Three Capitals tour includes Oslo, Stockholm and Helsinki. This is a so-called independent tour where you travel on your own, guided by our detailed travel documents. These include instructions on how to get from the airport to the city, how to find your hotel, etc. More information about this tour type can be found on our website under travel info => booking a tour => about self guided tours (TripAdvisor does unfortunately not allow me to include links...).
No one from Authentic Scandinavia will meet you at the airport. If you prefer being met instead of taking the train, you can book a private transfer though; the driver would then wait for you in the arrivals hall. We are available 24/7 though by phone should you require any assistance.

We are planning a Norway Fijords and Stockholm trip with Authentic Scandinavia, using the cheaper category 2 hotels. Some of the reviews for these hotels are not good. Can anyone give me their experiences of this group of hotels. Thanks
