‪We came to visit on Sunday 15th it was lovely sn quiet which is perfect for us because we have an autistic child.
We enjoyed seeing the fish but the staff seemed stroppy and unwelcoming walking round the place moaning at everyone. My daughter was looking at the rats and the man rudely said move because he wanted to feed them there’s just no communication skills at all or patience when dealing with special needs children.
The man serving on the till in the gift shop was friendly had a smile I didn’t catch is name but he was on the till at 3pm ish .
Overall we enjoyed the seeing the fish but staff ruin it ! It is a child’s attraction after all being able to communicate with the public should be on their job description.‬

Our staff are really well trained in communication, and have the skills necessary to communicate to those with additional needs. It’s part of the job. We also run on a strict feeding schedule and have to enforce rules for animal welfare, as it is our top priority, such as no banging on tanks, fingers in tanks or flash photography. We always aim to provide the best communications possible. All our staff are really friendly and often take the time to provide more details on our species to our customers. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the experience in our gift shop as well. We are incredibly proud of our amazing attraction, and once again thank you for taking the time to write this review. Customer service and experience is really important to us, so we always take any feedback under advisement and onboard. ‪Great expereince with the Shark Snorkeling for our Son Late December, really struggled with getting him in a Wet Suit, the staff were extreamly accomodating and helpful in ensuring he could partake in the expereince.‬

‪It was a mixture of things that led to the poor rating. We had booked a shark diving experience, read reviews about the shark called nudge etc and how interactive it was. Nudge is no longer there which immediately took the shark part away from the dive as the others didn’t come anywhere near the divers. The diving instructor was lovely and patient though there was no info about sharks/fish shared and I thought it was suppose to be an educational experience. The divers are walked to one area and kneel down, they are then walked to another area and kneel down and finally they are walked to the previous area and again kneel down. My Daughter enjoyed it but said it was a little boring just kneeling and not moving except to walk to the next kneeling place. The guy who took videos (and kept standing directly in the way of spectators) was very sarcastic when asked what he wants me to do with the wet suit afterwards and I heard him chuntering away when I walked away which was rather upsetting. I doubt he would have acted so openly rudely if I were not a 5.3 woman. Everyone had been out and changed for sometime and the centre was closed so I asked the elderly woman who had taken the register “Hi my lovely do you know how we get out please” “you were told” was her reply. I was taken back by the sheer bluntness of her reply and explained that we were told someone would walk us out and I wanted to know where that person was. It felt like basic communication was missing, the front staff kept telling us the centre was closed and putting barriers up, the diving staff didn’t communicate with us at all and when asked any questions acted like they were above giving answers. The experience would have been better if staff were less rude and actually communicated to customers and shared what was happening and why rather than complete silence and then barking at people when spoken to. I wouldn’t recommend this experience to anyone and I would recommend the diver who was videoing and the older woman are spoken to about being at the minimum polite, and not openly rude to customers and the shark dive is renamed “dive with fish”

Nudge, our famed and endangered Zebra Shark, has moved to Paris to participate in an international breeding program. Prior notice would have been given to this, on both our website and social media. There are still plenty of species in our tanks, including our Bat Rays and Black Tip Reef Sharks. Animals like ours should not be controlled, and therefore we are not always able to predict their actions. Just like Nudge did, they may choose not to interact. Information regarding all our species will have been provided by the instructor during the dive, and as well in the training beforehand. It’s important that when in the tank, our customers do not scare, hurt or disturb our animals, which is why movement is strictly limited for the safety of our staff, customers and animals. Videos are taken during the session, and may involve the instructor standing in front of the diver to film this. Thank you for your feedback regarding the leaving process, we will take this onboard and we will aim to improve communication. We are incredibly proud of our amazing attraction, and once again thank you for taking the time to write this review. ‪I was relatively impressed with much of this attraction and think it has so much potential. The theming is quite good and some good educational stuff such as a plastic bags circling in a tank next to the jellyfish tank. I also liked that they didn't have a grab and prob tank for kids like some aquariums do and instead had a sand pit. (Although there are a few open top tanks and I do wonder how many hands and sun cream enter those tanks in the summer with people probably ignoring the signs). Some lovely species too, nice cafe, kids soft play, clean toilets.

Constructive criticism would be:

Some of the enclosures are too small for the species housed and not very enriching - this spoiled it a bit for me as it was very obvious. I may be more critical than most as an ex zoo keeper/working for animal welfare charities but I found some of the enclosures upsetting. My family picked up on it too. I spent some time feeling sorry for the lobster, amongst other residents in small tanks. In my opinion, sometimes having fewer but larger and more interesting exhibits is better for both the animals and people. Also, the trend of zoos/aquariums having less enriching tanks so animals are easily visible and people can see everything straight away can be less interesting for visitors too and result in people quickly moving on and being disatisfied when after 45 minutes they feel they have seen everything. Where tanks are more enriching and full environments, species are harder to see (and some people will always moan) but by and large it can increase dwell time and visitor experience. It's more interesting having to go round looking for species (and having a species in this tank you need to find sign) than to see everything straight away in an empty tank where they are really visible. Underwater livecams and stuff can always be added to aid interest and streamed onto screens.

I would also say for species such as the rats (I believe all species really) they should have both an on show and an off show aspect to their enclosure for welfare reasons (or at least for fish a tank going back in width so they can choose to be away from the window, behind rocks etc) so they can have some peace if they wish to. I appreciate that sometimes attractions feel their animals always need to be on show, but people care more and more about welfare these days and knowing that the animals I see are on show because they want to be (and have the choice) is good for visitors (and helps future proof your exhibit). You could also do things like have a webcam in their offshow to make it interesting when they're not visible. I also thought the enclosure wasn't stimulating enough for rats - they're really clever animals and that should be promoted and demonstrated on their enclosures.

The signage also desperately needs updating, as I felt like I left without learning anything new really. I (and many people, probabl especially adults) enjoy reading signs. They had some ipad type signs which had species profiles which changed slowly from species to species, but this really should be either big education boards/species lists on the tanks or interactive ipads where you can select the species and flick through rather than having to wait. Good signage can completely change the experience and perspective of the quality of an exhibit. I did see a sign stating they are in the process of updating signs so hopefully this will be addressed. This aspect felt very old fashioned and poorly done. I feel UK attractions should also always ensure they have some UK species and education too, so people appreciate and understand what we have here at home and actions they can take to help protect it. There were some aspects of this like the litter messaging, but it's not developed enough and very basic.

I'm coeliac vegarian and thought it was good to see some GF option in the cafe and GF cake. However, the GF cake in the display was not covered and was next to non-GF cake (and on the bottom shelf) so is a cross contamination risk. It should have a cake cover and be on the top shelf so crumbs can't fall from above. Their could also do with being more GF options, I didn't have many options so instead my family of 5 adults all went for fish and chips instead but would have stayed if the catering was better for me and cake wasn't a concern which would have put more money in the attraction. It only takes on person in a family to be unhappy with the options and the attraction loses custom of the entire party.

I liked the plastic litter educational display near the start but it was obvious it had been created, whereas I would have connected more if the litter had been collected on Skegness beach from local beachcleans. For example, a staff volunteer morning and showing everything staff collected. I thought the ant projection of shadows on the floor was effective and clever. There could do with being more of that around the place.

I liked the quiz as you went around and though it was a really nice touch to be given a chocolate coin on the way out. But as I'm GF I wasn't sure if I could eat it, I'm an adult so I can cope but maybe ensure there are allergy options for kids which have allergies (definitely have a vegan GF one at the very least, vegan covers milk allergies too which are common in children) so they aren't left out as this could be really upsetting for them. With the quiz however, we did notice the quiz Q answer was always the name of the dinosaur on the sign immediately next to the Q board so wasn't very interesting and I think could do with improvement. I appreciate it needs to be doable for children, but should have some aspect of 'work' and adults are always with children to help.

The dinosaurs were cool but the way round wasn't very clear and plastic path and boardwalk very slippy - I almost fell over and just caught myself. In the winter this could do with a bit of substrate so it's not slippy but still pram/wheelchair safe etc.

I liked that the axolotl tank mentioned vet care and not keeping them as pets. Could do with more of that for the fish too as they must be one of the species groups which have the poorest welfare in captivity. Maybe an exhibit about them being complex pets, and minimum tank sizes? Not keeping in bowls etc. Fish stereotype and get behavioural issues in captivity. And about sustainable sourcing pet fish as many are wild caught and could have conservation concerns with the trade.

The gift shop was however one of the worst gift shops I have seen. They had plenty, but full of very typical plastic rubbish etc. Zoos and aquariums which have legal requirements to educate as part of their licence, should ensure they practice what they preech in all their catering outlets and shops. Materials should be sustainably sourced, educational toys etc. if the attraction wants to make a difference and set an example. Many zoos are doing this and visitors will appreciate it.

All in all a good place but needs changes including for animal welfare reasons, and I would visit again in the future and hope to see improvements. I'd have given 4 stars if I didn't have welfare concerns for some, and 5 if the rest was addressed.‬

A lot of effort has gone into our theming, and ensuring we are educational whilst also being equally enjoyable. We have hundreds of amazing species, our toilets are regularly cleaned and also have a soft play so little ones can burn some energy off. Like any zoo or aquarium, animal welfare is our top priority, with all our species getting being within enclosures that are of suitable size, and receive frequent enrichment, even if this is not seen during public opening hours. We are regularly inspected, in line with licensing legislation, from both officials and our vet. As mentioned during your visit, we were in the process of updating and improving our signage to include more information and allow for easier updates. We also have a number of species which are UK based, and our staff are also about to help provide information, including through regular tank talks. We also aim to provide as many options as possible for those with dietary requirements in order to accommodate all of our customers. We do hold regular litter picks, both for staff and for the public, and some of the items collected have been used in the plastic display where appropriate to highlight the devastating impact litter has on marine life. For the quiz, it is catered mainly towards children however it’s always fun for the whole family, with it being based on nearby information signs. Alternative treasure for those with dietary requirements is available, and this would have been provided upon request. Happy to hear you enjoyed Jurassic Falls! Our paths are regularly maintained to help limit any accidents. With a recent trend of keeping axolotls increasing, we felt it important to detail this and are glad you picked up on it. Our Zoo Crew and other staff are also regularly about and are happy to take the time to answer any questions. All items in our gift shop are sustainability sourced from our third-party suppliers as much as possible, with the labels on many products outlining the packaging is recyclable and how that product has been made, such as some of our plushies being made from recycled plastic bottles. These are the same suppliers used by many other attractions. We are incredibly proud of our amazing attraction, and once again thank you for taking the time to write this review. ‪My grandson had the snorkelling experience 18 months ago and enjoyed it but whilst we were looking round the aquarium we saw people diving and that's what he wanted to do next . He saved all birthday and Christmas money and this week he was able to have the dive experience and certainly well worth the wait. What an amazing time he had. We were greeted at 9.00 by one of the dive team and every aspect of the experience from then was great . All the dive team were organised , professional and informative but friendly, relaxed and reassuring. .My grandson loved the dive and bing in with all those amazing fish is something he will never forget. The Team certainly did their very best to make sure he got the most out of the experience.

‪If I could be 0 I would
Firstly I booked this for my partners birthday and his in the army so was only back from abroad for that weekend, .when advertised it said I could book on a Saturday , then to be told that no I have to pay £35 extra per person so £70
Then they emailed me to say they double booked me …. Can I move they will give me a go pro video for free I said I could not move my day so they changed my times , so I had to change check in times at hotel and get childcare and different times, but because didn’t get the go pro free even tho I had changed the timing to allow them to fix there mess up
Then we proceeded on the dive and brought the go pro video which was edited at the right day and time but they was the wrong people … I then responded immediately and said this is not is in the video I was an old video they didn’t even have the upgraded masks on
2 weeks 3 emails later nothing
I posted on there Facebook and they responses instantly to that
To be told is was an accident, but it was also send to the other girl on the same dive as me so you can’t make the same mistake twice , I asked for a refund for all the inconvenience and told me the correct video would be sent
They refunded me and told me I wasn’t getting the video ….

This all happened to the girl I was on the dive with too
APPALLING communication skills and was the biggest disappointment I’ve experienced

They are rude, unhelpful
If anyone wants to do a shark dive please go else where‬

Hi shannonN4538SK, Thank you for your review and feedback. As you purchased a voucher from a third party, which is at a discounted rate, it is subject to availability and limited on dates and times. It is stated clearly on the voucher third-party pages that there is limited availability and operates on a first-come, first-serve basis. Due to animal welfare reasons, we are limited on how many Shark Educational Dive Experience sessions we are able to run. You will have then upgraded to a full price booking, which would have offered more availability than a voucher, hence the £35 upgrade fee per participant for the difference in cost. Sadly, due to an admin error with our booking software, which is outside of our control, we did double book your original session. Following our realisation of this, we did contact you and ask politely if you were willing to swap dates in return for a free GoPro video of the session being provided, which usually costs £24.99. Understandably, you declined to swap dates, and we therefore accommodated this by slightly changing the timing of your session in order to appease all of our customers. As mentioned over Facebook messenger, the staff member who is responsible for the videos was off sick, and your emails were left for them to respond to and resolve upon their return. Due to a rendering error, the files were not imported correctly, resulting in an old template video being rendered and sent over to yourselves instead. Our videos are custom-made to orders, thought it is the same video provided to all participants within a session as it is the same footage, which is the reason why the other participant mentioned also had the same issue. We would never intentionally provide the wrong video and pride ourselves on our renowned customer service and creating entertaining experiences. Upon your complaint, a refund for the video purchase was issued to rectify the situation at your request, which resulted in the video not being provided as it is a paid extra. Our target is for all video orders to be fulfilled within 21 days upon the order being placed, which we were slightly over in terms of providing the correct video due to the aforementioned staff sickness. We are only able to provide the video for free of charge as gestures of goodwill, such as a date change. If you would still like the video, you are more than welcome to place an order for this. It is a paid extra due to it being made-to-order, custom created by our staff. The Dive Team are incredibly busy, dealing with hundreds of enquiries every single day, and will respond to any and all customer enquiries in an expropriate manner when they are not within the tank with customers. As a small, family-run, local business, we’re incredibly proud of our customer service, and have been shortlisted for numerous awards for our customer service locally as a result, and would therefore dispute your claim of poor communication, rudeness and being unhelpful. We are the only Dive Centre in Europe which makes use of our stunning full face masks, the closest to London, and no other centre in the UK offers the same amazing experience that we do, which is completely catered to amateurs, as our countless other reviews testify. ‪Our two boys (aged 7&10) were booked in for the snorkelling experience and they had an awesome time!

Everything was clearly explained to them and us, they were given great snorkelling masks which were full faced ones to enhance their experience of looking at the sharks. The instructor was very patient with the children and told them about all of the different sharks in the tank along with showing them shark eggs and the importance of conservation where the sharks are concerned.

The only thing I would like to see is a bigger tank whereby the children could swim as they snorkel to look at the animals but appreciate this is only a taster type experience.

I bought through virgin experiences and the boys had the experience, entry and our entry included for the price so it was well worth it. We were able to stay as long as we wished after the snorkelling experience.

The aquarium itself is, as others have said, small, but it functions and gives an hour or two of enjoyment. There is a soft play area upstairs so the children can play and then everyone can grab food and a drink.‬

‪The aquarium was a real let down…a lot smaller than we thought, worked out the same price as Sealife Centre in various places once we took the buy one get one free vouchers commonly available for the Sealife centres, but was a very poor relative in comparison, small, with a very cheap excuse for a dinosaur park tagged on the back to make what would be a really small and short term experience a tiny bit longer, but if the kids are older than 5 it’s a bit lame. I felt the aquariums were poorly cared for and would question some of the husbandry.‬

‪We were quite excited to visit this Aquarium during our visit to Skegness. Me and my other half thought the price to visit this Aquarium was quite extravagant. It's not very big and doesn't take long to get round.

If your visiting during the weekend or a school holiday be prepared to be crammed in. Some of the rooms are very small and tight.

We visited the Natureland Seal Sanctuary shortly after for a fraction of the price, that includes a small Aquarium, we personally found it was just better value for money.‬
