The cocktail menu is so varied and unusual. The staff are really passionate and even make their own unique ingredients from scratch.
The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming. It’s a great place for a date or to go out with your friends!

We visited riddles on Saturday night 26th june we wanted to go in the Irish bar next door again but it was very very packed as was Altrincham ( warm sunny evening)
Not a problem, we got a lovely high table next to the open doors and drank in there for a few hours, had a lovely cosy atmosphere and the staff are great.
Had a great night cant wait to come back in a few months when im visting family again

What a brilliant evening! Many thanks to Emma who delivered all the ingredients needed to all of us and then hosted a great cocktail making party for our work team Christmas party. Fabulous cocktails and great atmosphere. Thank you Emma - can’t wait to come in and visit when you reopen.

Fantastic cocktail bar. Comfortable but slightly quirky interior (US Speakeasy style), great staff, even better drinks. Support them while you can!

I am so disappointed in our whole experience and will not be returning to this bar again! We went as a group of 6 to celebrate our engagement and £40 worth of drinks were added to the bill that we didn’t have. When questioned the bar staff said that they couldn’t keep up and that’s why drinks were added- bearing in mind drinks were added that we didn’t even have!
Please be careful, when they have us the
Bill they came straight away with the card machine, in an attempt to make us pay without looking at the bill.
All the bar staff were speaking about the situation in front on the bar which made us all feel very uncomfortable
I spoke with Polly (bar supervisor) who clearly didn’t have control of the bar staff, taking no responsibility for the situation. Lolly said she could see we were upset but made no effort to come and speak to us to resolve the situation, just whispered behind the bar with the staff. It was absolutely horrendous, ruined our night and we definitely will not be returning back here.

Hi there, are you sure this is the correct bar you are referring to? We do not have any staff member called Polly. When was it you were at the bar please?

This is by bar the most unique bar in the area. Staff really know about drinks and seem passionate about their craft.
Great music playlist that gives the place a vintage feel and proper classic cocktails with unique twists. Loved the 1920s atmosphere and will definitely be going back!

From the time we walked in, to receiving two cocktails 40 minutes had gone by.
Two of the staff were too busy talking to their friends, one of which was another member of staff, who was sat at the bar drinking.
The second our cocktails finally arrived, they turned the lights on and turned the music off, thus destroying any atmosphere, and began drinking with two people sat at the bar.
Not to mention the cocktails we ordered were undrinkable and horrendously cheap, despite them taking over half an hour to arrive, and having coughed up £19.50 for two drinks.
We now understand why the bar was so empty on a Saturday night, and why the staff were wondering why it was another quiet night.
Horrendous experience.

Really gutted to hear you had this experience. This is not the standard we expect of our staff and our drinks. Could you be so kind to tell us exactly when you visited and at what time? I believe we ( the owners) may have been away that weekend and would like to speak to the staff about it. We believe in second chances ( and hope you do too) I know you said never again but this is really not what you would normally experience at Riddles. If you are up for it, i would like you to re-visit ( the round would be on us) when we are there. My friends and I arrived at a reasonable hour, when the bar was quiet with no queues. Although the bar staff were pleasant the service was incredibly slow. We left disappointed without our two drinks after waiting 35 minutes. We were then served within 2 minutes at the next bar.

We came here for a few cocktails after dinner nearby, and cant fault it. Great service, really tasty cocktails (on and off menu), and a very cosy atmosphere. We sat bear the door right in front of the love band, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Will definitely be back.

Very busy Saturday night. We were still able to have table service which was outstanding- very polite and efficient, made the evening in fact.
Great place with a terrific atmosphere, cocktails are the best I have tasted. Menu to suit all of tastes. Live music which just added to the pleasant vibe.
