I had the SHIRODHARA 'yoga for the brain' 75 min treatment and it was beyond incredible. I'm suffering with stress/anxiety at the moment so this was an attempt to help calm my self, mentally and physically. Within minutes I started to really relax and could feel tension leaving my body. By the time we got to the oil I was in another world. I got tearful as the jaw and headache which I've had for weeks finally eased off! I hear people talk about how these treatments can open up your mind and I've always been sceptical but I really did experience something quite incredible. My mind was trying to revert back to the negative thoughts I've been having however I felt able to push these away. I could even visualise a calming place where I felt able to think clearer. I walked out glowing and the oils have made my hair look like I've had some pricey keratin treatment. I'd also pulled a muscle in my back and that is eased off too! I only wish i lived nearer so I could go more regularly!

Indeed, having lived and worked in France, Germany, Scotland, England and the USA since 1982, I can indeed underline, as a service, what is good or not: especially as, also, we have been in some amazing hotels or/and spa service in Southern California, Nevada (Las Vegas) and the UK.
What makes that place magical in spirit is its subtle private time that people may have with a loved one(s). Up to one hour and an half of pure solace, undisturbed. The staff was just very tactful in manners, polite, pleasant and caring in a warm way. How refreshing to know such palces are still here.
In this world, which did go too fast since the 1980's, one can understand why people are now, more and more, seeking to slow time down or/and just to recharge ones mind by slow travel and, another example,by having a private time "spa wise" with some precious privacy.
Merci to the staff we met on Sunday the 12th of May, for that golden memory: we needed some tender loving care and that was it!

Absolutely brilliant enjoyed it so much my daughter and I had a full body massage and a facial the 2 ladies were lovely and the treatments were amazing .

As a Resident of Sidmouth I occasionally go to the Aspara sauna and jacuzzi located below the Royal York and Faulkner Hotel. Very pleasant experience. £17.50 per person and you can stay up to 2 hours.

I booked my wife a hot stone massage and a facial treatment at aspara whilst on a weeks break in Devon and she was not disappointed. She was so relaxed when I picked her up I had to check it was really her !
The best massage she has ever had was about all she could say !
Well worth the money and will visit again as we frequently are in the area.

Took part in a deal £50 for massage and spa. Was lovely and the massage was really nice. Changing rooms were small but clean.

The spa has just been taken over by new therapists. I used a voucher I had bought for me. A total delight. Lovely therapists, massages to die for, a real asset to the locality, such lovely people I want to book in every month.

We enjoyed an hour in the wet spa before a really good half hour Swedish massage each. Then another short time in the sauna. This was not a big place, but they have made the best of the space they have and it was a great idea to go to the spa as part of a yoga retreat, after a Saturday morning yoga class. We felt very relaxed after.

Once inside the Spa obviously you must change into your swimming costume/robe,the changing room is very small and offers no privacy.We then proceeded to the small swimming pool/jacuzzi which was lovely and warm but had a tide mark all around the edge..some of the tiles around the pool were broken and discoloured.Unfortunately the two loungers around the pool were very grubby underneath and the bench in the sauna was splintered in areas ! Ouchy ! After our alloted hour and a half we returned to the changing room which only has 1 shower. This shower is very underpowered and pretty luke warm. There is no mat or drain in the floor and so everyone in this small changing room is paddling in water from the shower as well as trying to preserve some modesty while changing out of wet things in an unvented hot little box. The hairdryer worked well but just increased the humidity and therefore the changing room is unsuitable for reapplying make up before venturing back into the world. Shame......it could have been so much better. Invest in a steam cleaner, buy some bleach and get the plumber/builder back in......

I had a good facial, quite relaxing but the actual experience was let down by the surroundings. The chairs in the waiting area were worn and tired and need to be changed. As this was the first thing that I saw, I was slightly put off. I was expecting a bit more luxury.
