Alan, our driver and tour guide was 1st rate. He was entertaining, knowledgeable about the history of Scotland and attended to everyone's concerns. It was a small group tour, seven people. We visited the Isle of Skye and the lowlands. The accommodations were either 4 or 5 stars, and the food was consistently well prepared. Alan is a "5-star" guide and if you get a chance to travel with him as your driver you should definitely do it!

Best Scottish Tours is definitely the best way to tour Scotland. The small group tour provides a personalized adventure that a larger tour could never deliver. BST’s choice of accommodations are first rate; hard to pick a favorite place we stayed. The vans are spacious and comfortable. I never felt rushed at any stop, which I appreciated so much.
Our tour guide Alan made the trip extra special. He had a wealth of knowledge and a great sense of humor which added so much to the experience. He took the time to get to know all of us and was able to make suggestions he knew we would enjoy. Alan knew all the places to stop to get the best views and best food!
If you’re planning a trip to Scotland, I would highly recommend Best Scottish Tours.

I just returned home from my 2nd Best Scottish Tour. It was as fantastic as the first was in 2018! This time my daughter, best friend, and I did the 8 Day Western Coast, with Seam train. Our guide/driver was Alan and he was great…kind, thoughtful, funny, fun, patient, and an excellent driver. He knows his history, historical sites, hidden gems, every road, all the best lunch stops, and very important…where to find highland coo’s! He loves his Scotland. Our hotels were all excellent, clean and comfortable, with nice views and/or settings. Our 3 travel mates were great and fun to get to know. We all came home with new friends. A fun small world moment happened on the tour. At one of our overnight stops, we ran into Terry, our guide/driver on our first BST! What a fun treat for my daughter and me. We thought he had retired! I would come back for #3 in a heartbeat. Lots more to see in this beautiful land and the only way is with Best Scottish Tours!

We just came back from an amazing Scotland family vacation with Best Scottish tours! I cannot say enough about how wonderful everything was! Our tour guide "Colin" was absolutely the best! He guided us through a magical tour of Scotland where we were able to see, hear and feel the amazing beauty and history of Scotland. Colin's vast knowledge and experience enabled us to experience things we could not have ever been able to without Best Scottish Tours. We saw many beautiful castles, ate wonderful food, slept in beautiful lodging and met many very friendly local people.
We came away feeling very happy and satisfied. Can't wait to do another Best Sottish Tour! Terrific company and team members!!

Loved the history of this incredibly beautiful country. Our guide Alan was so informative. His knowledge of this beautiful country was amazing and he was so fun. We could not have had a better guide. Our accommodations were supreme and the restaurants were wonderful.
May I live long enough to go back to see more of this anmazing country and will definitely use “Best Scottish Tours”.

I'm an avid whisky lover, and it has always been my dream to do a distillery tour of Scotland. Best Scottish Tours made my dream come true. We did 11 distilleries in ten days, staying in nine different hotels and gust houses. We were eight in a van plus our wonderful driver, George. At most of the distilleries we were given a tour and explanation of their particular approach. And at all of them we got to taste from two to four drams. My wife is not a whisky lover so I brought her drams hone in "driver's bottle," small bottles provided for those who do not drink. (Yes, there are some.)
The places we stayed at were all very nice, save on which I did not care for, but it was not awful. The best surprise was the food! It was simply delicious with a special emphasis on local fresh fish. We also go to visit several small towns and a couple of amazing castles. The trip was delicious, tasty and interesting.
I will add one thing. A trip like this is not for the weak of heart. My wife and I are 80, and to be honest, found it tiring. Fortunately, our younger van mates and George helped us with out bags so we managed.
I cannot recommend this trip more strongly. We had a wonderful time, made good friends and learned tons about Scotland and whisky.

Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your whisky tour of Scotland, it is a very full itinerary to ensure you get to the best of the distilleries Scotland has to offer! Some of our tours do require more stamina than others as they can be very attraction heavy. The driver bottles of whisky are a great takeaway for those who who are maybe not huge lovers of single malt, but we always say this is just because you haven't found the right one yet! All of the accommodations we use are different in their own ways, we like to work with small local properties that can offer our guests a true Scottish experience. We hope George left you with many wonderful memories, and should you wish to return on a more slower paced tour, we would be delighted to welcome you!

We just came back from our first trip to Scotland. From the girls in the office at BST to the end of our trip with our driver Alan it was the best! The girls were very helpful and Alan our driver is very knowledgeable with the Scottish history and off the beaten trail adventures and great sense of humor! We saw the Isle of Skye, battle fields, castles, distilleries, breathtaking views and Scottish coos. Our overnight accommodations were amazing! We are looking forward to coming back again and will only be booking with BST and requesting Alan!

We were lucky enough to have a tour guide, Jonty Cameron, who knows and loves Scotland and Scottish history so each day was very interesting. In addition to sharing his knowledge, he went out of his way each and every day to ensure that our trip was memorable. And perhaps best of all, he was a lot of fun. I cannot imagine a better trip than the one we had though we are ready to come back.

My wife and I just finished a Scottish Castle and Distillery tour with BST, along with three other couples. It was a packed 10-day trip but one that we will never forget. Our guide and driver, George, was so helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining. George and the entire BST team set up a schedule for each day that gave us a thorough immersion in Scottish history, culture and, of course, whisky making (and tasting!). Every day was a new adventure. George handled the multitude of logistics required for each day and evening seamlessly. The BST front office was also responsive and extremely helpful accommodating special requests. From beginning to end, this was an A++ experience.

We really appreciate your feedback on all the wonderful places you stayed, and we are delighted you had a great time with George - he works extremely hard to deliver the best experience. We are so proud of our driver/guides abilities to not only take a small group from A to B (with lots of points of interest in between!) but to also impart their knowledge and enthusiasm for our small country. What a beautiful country! Our trip took us into the Highlands & Isle of Skye as we saw things I’m sure large tours never see. Our guide, Terry, was courteous, humorous & a wealth of knowledge. He was a walking history book of Scotland. Best Scottish Tours made the trip easy. Go to Scotland!

Thanks for reviewing your recent tour, we're so glad you got to see things that suited your wishes and preferences, and Terry is like a walking history book when it comes to Scotland. Smaller group tours are, in our opinion, the only way to see Scotland in all it's glory and we are happy we got to share out passion and love for Scotland with you.

If doing the 9-day Highlands and Islands tour where do we meet up? Fly into where? Depart from the same? Are accommodations for the day of arrival included and if not what is recommended? Thank you.

We flew into Edinburgh and they picked us up from our VRBO directly.

Is there a way to get laundry done on the 10 day tour?

Hi Susan S,
most hotels have a laundry service and on the 10 day tour there are a couple of 2 night stays during the tour where it is possible to get laundry done, normally laundry is done during the day as many smaller hotels don't have night staff.
Once your tour is booked, we would check with the hotels on the way to make sure it is possible to get your laundry done - I hope this answers your question. Regards. Karen.
