Fabulous in every way.friendly and you feel at home. I am very eager to return to this fine establishment. Quite the find.

Great place to go if you're into your music. They have live bands most Fridays and Saturdays. Great selection of beers and spirits. Gothic type decor is very unique and awesome, with the giant bat out the back and the dragon throne. Give it a go you won't regret it.

We went here, unfortunately due to a funeral the upstairs 'function room' was hired.
Firstly, the coke on the pull was absolutely horrendous tasting. I am not sure what happened to it, but there was defiantly something wrong with it. My partner tipped hers away, and others returned theirs and asked for a can instead.
The floor clearly hadn't been cleaned from when the room was last used because we were all sticking to the floor. When going to the bar for a drink, the first one, none all gone. The second drink, barrel needed changing and pipes cleaning. All when people were all waiting for a drink as we'd all just got there following the the funeral. Shambles comes to mind considering they knew it had been hired out.
They put one person on the bar, to serve us all, it actually was quicker to go downstairs get a drink and come back up than it was to get served in the hired room. I didn't eat the buffet so cannot comment on that.
All though I didn't make the decision to book. I wouldn't book it for any of my needs in the future.

Still lo e the Gifford after 10 years for the previous visit. Hood music, people, and the staff are always friendly no matter the era. One thing that has let it down for years is the drinks haven't changed since the 90s I don't think 🤣🤣🤣. Come on Giff! update the beverages, we really don't want to drink naff beer, and would frequent more often if this improved.

Without a shadow of a doubt one of my favourite pubs to visit in Wolverhampton is The Giffard Arms Pub ,a pub that on every trip to Wolverhampton I take I always look forward to visiting.
I love the look of this pub ,set over two floors with a classic Goth look to it ,great wall art ,interesting decor and furnishings including coffin ⚰ shaped tables and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, its a really good pub to chill out in.
My twin brother Stephen and I were here on a Saturday afternoon, greeted warmly by a very pleasant member of the staff, we gave our details of name and phone number to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands and ordered a craft beer each, we chose Shipyard Brewing Co ipa, these were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great vibe and music in this pub.
While sipping our beers we both pondered on the fact that to go to a pub in these strange coronavirus pandemic times you have to track and trace, get temperature took, sanitise hands and wear face masks when not seated making pubs,bars and restaurants the safest environments to visit but if I go into a large shop or department store there's no track and trace, hardly any hand sanitisers and people refrain from wearing masks and if they do they wear them incorrectly ie under the nose or mouth ( chin hammocks ) totally selfish shoppers , now if there's a spike in the coronavirus pandemic the government instantly blame the hospitality sector who are adhering to the rules but not the retail sector thus its the hospitality sector that is punished with early closing or closing altogether but shops and selfish shoppers carry on as normal, think the government are scared of losing retail revenue, hypocrisy at it most blatant.
Thats my rant over and back to the pub and the beer ,pub was busy with a cool atmosphere, staff done a great job with social distancing and my beer was excellent, a hoppy ,smooth ipa with a big hit of hops, very easy to drink my twin brother Stephen also gave me a thumbs up to his beer.
We both really enjoyed our beers in here, had a great time but as we were pub hopping we only stayed for the one each before moving on.
The Giffard Arms Pub is easy to locate along Victoria Street.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Thursday, 11am till Midnight.
Friday & Saturday, 11am till 2am.
Sunday, Midday till 11pm.
Opening hours are during coronavirus pandemic times ;
Monday to Sunday, 11am till 10pm.
A most wonderful pub,if your in the area most definitely well worth a visit.

The Giffard Is An Excellent Pub That Has A Gothic Themed Interior And Is One Of The Quirkiest Pubs In Wolverhampton.Housed In A Building Built In 1922 With A Fantastic Facade'The Inside Is Superb With A Gothic Feel And Look With Many Fantasy Fixtures Throughout This Rock Pubs Interior.A Pub That Has Coffin Shaped Tables And Plenty Of Other Interesting Horror Themed Items Throughout This Quirky Pub.There Is Also A Fantastic Gothic/Fantasy Room Upstairs Which Was Closed When We Visited And A Resident Ghost Apparently Which Makes It The Ideal Pub To Visit If You Like The Dark Side Of Life.We Visited Here Fairly Early In The Afternoon And Once We Gave Details For The Track And Trace We Then Ordered A Couple Of Glasses Of Shipyard Brewing Company American IPA Which Where Well Served And Priced.This Is A Superb Pub In Wolverhampton And Was One Of The Best Pubs We Visited For Atmosphere And For The Decor And Is A Pub I Would Go Again On My Next Trip To Wolverhampton.A Very Easy Pub To Find From Beatties Bus Stop Walk Along Darlington Street And You Turn Right Onto Victoria Street.(This Is My First Review Of The Giffard).

Definitely the place to go if you love rock and something out of the ordinary.
Brilliant pub, great atmosphere, 3 live bands seen for £5. Dukes of Bordello were amazing - would def recommend seeing them if you get the chance.

Visited Friday 13th to watch a few band's room upstairs was fairly small not all pubs change entry fee this one did which was unexpected as this wasn't advertised any way we had a good night drink is reasonably priced would definitely go again.

Been coming here on and off since the mid 80s. Always loved it in here. Great music and a good mix of metal, Punk, skinhead, scooterist and goth types, as well as your straights. I won't lie, there was a lot of trouble in the 80s. Glad people have grown up a bit now, and it is a lot friendlier.
I was here after the Midlands Calling Punk festival a cupla years ago, and we pretty much took over the place after the gig. Jock from GBH dropped in for a cupla pints. Once the Wulfrun has sorted out that asbestos problem, and Midlands Calling is re-instated, it would be a good idea to have an aftershow gig upstairs.
