Went here with friends before Neighborhood weekender. Great service. Alex was very helpful with information about the festival, and all staff were polite, friendly and efficient. Salt and Pepper chips were lush

My daughter introduced me to this place and I have to say I’m amazed at what a lovely pub this is. Great range of beers and reasonably priced. The staff are brilliant too, especially Robbie, he’s just hilarious.
This pub used to have a terrible reputation several years ago. I can gladly say that this place has changed for the better and is an attractive place to visit now!!
Thai food too which is lovely!!

Had a lovely unexpected evening in the cheese. Staff and customers were all friendly and welcoming. Robbie however, belongs on a stage! He's so funny and adorable xx PS, he's gorgeous

There aren't enough good things I can say about The Cheshire Cheese, I just love this pub and that really is down to the owner Alex, and his brilliant team of people, Gemma, Robbie, Phil (to name a few) who put their all into making this place the success it is.
There really is something for everyone bingo, quiz night, karaoke, pool, darts and live music galore. I am new to the Warrington area and not knowing anyone in the local area, I have to say how welcome everyone at The Cheshire Cheese has made me and my daughter feel, it means a lot.
Must also say how reasonable the drinks are and a good selection. Nits Thai food is amazing and a great addition to the pub.
I recommend this pub to everyone and I can't wait for the summer to sit in the amazing beer garden.

Our favourite place to go. Cost winter days, lovely summer nights. The garden is amazing as is the Thai food! Lovely and welcoming staff and locals, especially if you bring a dog! Haha. Great quiz night too.

Hi all, just want to recommend this AMAAAAAZING place!! The best thing is the great family atmosphere...Alex, Connie the German Sheppard and little cat, Belle, are THE perfect hosts! This place is a rare to find honest and decent establishment, and Alex, (though I'm an expat living abroad, always keeps me updated on all his new ideas for constant customer improvements towards absolute client satisfaction. For this reason, I was rather disappointed *to say the least) that an apparent -ex BARRED customer, gave a TROLL style one star review! 😪 Alex the owner is an example of a boss, host and owner, and thank God barred a trouble causer, ( Ms 1star review!) No bar would want as a customer!! ..Shame on you lady, you shouldnt have EVER lied on review about a man that is such a crowd pleasing man and fabulous host 👏... (But, I guess that it takes 'all types' in this world!).... I continue to LOVE this wonderful place, and especially the fact that it procures always to keep 'the 'right' types of people and takes actions on ridding the bad elements. (Something that not all bars do!) Be sure that the Cheshire Cheese ,Warrington, is a truly wonderful place to visit, and I always enjoy my time here thoroughly, I travel to many places worldwide, but always will come back and consider this atmosphere, ( thanks to tALEX WRIGHT,) a dear home away from home.... Shame on you to the troll that gave a lying 1 star review!!!!!!!! My loyalty will forever live on whilst such a fantastic person and landlord owns this public establishment! Big hugs and eternal congrats on making us all feel so welcome! 💓

We were hoping for a real English pub after all the reviews and we were really disappointed :( No "friendly" welcome from the bar staff (as advertised on their in house TV), their faces turned our beer sour! The drinks were very expensive and served in dirty glasses, and there was a pungeant smell about the place - tbh if we'd wanted a Thai takeaway we would have ordered one! We were told this place was full of local characters and didn't find any! When we enquired with the locals (we had to go to the local garage to find any) we were told that most of the local characters who had kept this pub going for years were now barrred! What a shame! Will definitely not be revisiting!

I’m sorry you had such a negative experience Katie.
Unfriendly staff, expensive prices, dirty glasses, pungent smell, no local characters? This is the complete polar opposite to virtually every review on Tripadvisor, and what my local customers have been feeding back to me and my staff.
This pub is my livelihood and I’m incredibly concerned regarding the content of your review as this could be very damaging for me and my business.
I’ve worked incredibly hard in the 3 and a half years I’ve been here and I believe I’ve created a pub that is friendly, welcoming and very popular.
I’d be interested to chat privately with you Katie and identify which particular day you attended. I’m very keen to put right the wrongs that you witnessed.
Once again. I’m sorry you had a negative experience and hope to speak with you soon.

Absolutely brilliant night we had there recently. Live music, the band loved us. Staff were terrific and lovely welcoming locals.
