Spent a couple of hours here in the lovely sunshine with my niece and my cousin this afternoon. The Childrens zoo was a lovely walk round and my niece loved the ‘wack sacks’ (ducks to you and me!) we had a lovely little picnic and an ice cream by the park then she had a play. Was our first visit and we were very impressed. I’m sure we’ll be back soon !

Just had a lovely afternoon in Walton Halls beutifully kept gardens.
Lots of things to see & do, especially at weekends when various activities are open for a reasonable fee. Lovely play area & children's zoo (free entry) which are open on a daily basis. All this available at just the cost of parking! (All day parking, weekday £3 & £4 at the weekend)

We've visited Walton Hall Gardens many times and have always enjoyed it. There are plenty of things to do for all ages. A children's play park, children's zoo, cafe, adventure golf course (a fee to play) and more. Lots of areas to walk around, take in the beautiful flowers, trees and shrubs and enjoy the fresh air. Plenty of robins and squirrels to look out for too.
All this and its free to get in. Parking : Monday – Friday is £3, Saturday – Sunday and bank holidays cost £4. . The Bridgewater canal runs alongside the gardens and is ideal for a lovely walk down the canal path.

The park itself and animal area are lovely. The children’s playground is mainly for younger kids under 10.
We didn’t enjoy the cafe at all. Considering the park is mainly full of younger children, there wasn’t a children’s menu. The food is aimed at adults entirely. Plus, it’s cheap low quality food sold at expensive prices. It could be a spectacular food venue, but it simply isn’t. The staff were really friendly and were so busy.
I would say to take a picnic with you!

Had a fab day walking alpacas around the grounds at Walton Hall. Only myself and my hubby in our group so it was like our own private tour. Peter was our guide. He was great and very informative about the alpacas and the history of the hall. Our alpacas Malbec, Topaz and Jim were very well behaved and very cute. A lovely way to spend a morning.

Lovely day out, very busy on a sunny spring day. Lots to do here, large park for children to play on, a couple of small fairground rides and a small petting zoo. Zoo was free to enter and it was great, very well looked after. Lovely gardens and woodland walks. Dog friendly though for obvious reasons they aren't allowed in the zoo or play area. Car park was full and overflow was not opened which was irritating but we managed to park on a road near the Walton Arms pub (which was also fantastic!).

A brilliant evening out. In recent years we have been to local light shows but I have always felt like these are over crowded and so busy you cannot enjoy your evening properly. We booked for the 4.30 slot which was perfect as it was already going dark, the trail is beautiful and I especially liked the interactive parts for children. I hope Walton gardens put Lightopia on next year as we really enjoyed it. My little girl really loved the fairy garden & all the staff were very polite.

Hi, are there wheelchair-accessible toilets here? Thanks
Hi. Yes there are wheelchair accessible toilets in 3 locations. Near the entrance to the Estate, at the rear of the Hall and within the playground. The accessible toilets near the front entrance also has a hoist and changing bed. Sean Kelly, operations manager

How much to get in the zoo?
Hi Stacy, the Children's Zoo is free to enter with many exciting animals to see such as Alpaca, Donkeys and Peacocks plus much more.

Does anyone know how busy this place gets in school holidays, am visiting family and was thinking of going with my 95 year old Grandma and 2 boys for a couple of hours, and wanted to go to the cafe but not if it gets packed, decent to Bents last half term and the restaurant was so busy it ruined the day as it was so stressful!

Hi there, It can get quite busy(the park itself) I went last Saturday with family but it wasn't so bad it would put me off going on a Saturday again, TBH I've never really seen the cafe that busy and I'm sure they would find your gran a seat somewhere, its a lovely friendly place! I have anxiety about busy places and I had 3 kids under 10 in tow, we were there for hours,as after the park there was the zoo, the mini golf, walking in the woods, the Victorian glass houses which have recently been restored and the fish pond to discover! Have a great trip if you do go!

Cannot remember how much it costs, but it’s a pet hate of mine paying to park.
You can park a short walk away by the Walton Arms pub and park on the road.
It’s then a five minute walk away to the gardens.
