‪Me and my husband love visiting here. We always walk around the beautiful lake first, followed by the glorious gardens. We don’t have children yet but it was nice to see they had activities for the kids to do and people in fancy dress entertaining them. The shops are worth a look in as I got some nice birthday presents for my friends. I can’t remember the name of the restaurant, but the one that sells meat babs was delicious. Recommend for a nice day out.‬

‪Parking horribly expensive as is everything else. The park is lovely to walk around, play area is okay but very busy at peak times. We went to the farm which wasn’t very family friendly- quite a walk down to it, not very pushchair friendly and not many animals to see. Better offerings locally. It’s fine if you take your own food and drinks and only want to walk around the park itself, otherwise becomes an extremely expensive day out and the experience isn’t worth it.‬

‪Don’t charge members for parking. £9.50 is a disgrace. We didn’t pay at the car park and I bet a lot of other people don’t either. Not sure what they’re aiming for but it was unlike any other NT property we’ve visited. Overcrowded, queues for everything, bizarre carousel , is at trying to be a theme park? Awful, go somewhere else.‬

‪Rip off. Website confusing. Paid £9 for parking; then you have to pay to see the gardens £8. Then pay to see the very few animals £8. You can only see the Japanese gardens from a distance. Complete rip off.‬

‪The NT sections of the park are lovely. The gardens are peaceful and beautiful.

£9.50 for parking, with no reductions for NT members, is extortionate.

The play area is in desperate need of attention. Many areas are cordoned off and unfit for use. Given the space it really has becone a depressing area.‬

‪We caught the cherry trees in bloom. Highly recommend, although you'll need to wait till late March / early April 2023 now. Terri and Kevin were giving excellent tours around the Japanese garden - which will be lovely any time of year - and their energy, knowledge and enthusiasm made it very special. In early April wrap up warm if you want to stay long enough to get the most out of it.‬

‪Farm- we visited the farm during lambing week and saw a wide range of (very cute) lambs. The staff were very informative and friendly, we were even able to feed and hold some of the lambs which was great. There isn’t loads of animals at the farm but I think if you come on an occasion (Easter, Christmas etc) it’s worth the visit as there’s lots going on.

Gardens- the gardens were very pleasant however some of it looked slightly tired. The Japanese garden is lovely to look at (but you can’t walk through it). I wouldn’t rush back but it was nice to go once.

Parkland- very vast space to walk around, big attraction is obviously the deer roaming free which are great to watch (from afar)

All in all, a lovely day out if you’re willing to pay the extras for the farm / mansion / gardens etc.‬

‪Visited for the first time yesterday 10/04/22, and the whole place could be a wonderful place if it wasn't for the excessive charges.

I am National Trust member and still had to pay the excessive parking charges, but could enter the gardens for free, the gardens are beautiful, really peaceful and quiet, a lot bigger than expected, these are really worth a visit.

Popped into the cafe for some lunch, this was a disaster, huge queues, then staff wanting to refil the fridge so everyone had to move, places lost in queues, people with dogs all where the food is, over priced food, I mean who would pay £4.75 for a small slice of cake? complete rip off.
No staff wearing hats or gloves, but quite happily wedge a plate against their stomach to cut a jacket potato, no hygienic at all and clearly not very safe when holding a sharp knife.
The older ladies who seemed to be in charge in the cafe, were shouting orders and rude to all staff members and customers too, it was appalling to see this happening in front of your eyes, there is a time and a place and this was clearly neither.

The toilets are in an out building and are old, not the best nor the cleanest but needs must.
The shop was tiny and really not worth buying from, just so expensive.

In the courtyard they had a carousal, £3 a go per person, really not worth that either.

There is a farm but we didn't go to this nor venture anywhere else, as the weather had changed and turned quite cold, but we had seen what we wanted to see and departed for the day, this place really does have the option to be a wonderful place, get rid of excessive charges and more people will visit, reduce the ridiculous prices for food in the cafe and maybe let the managers attend a course in how to interact with their staff which would be beneficial to all.

I am unsure if I would visit again, however, should I return I will be bringing a picnic!‬

‪I was very disappointed with Tatton Park and am so glad that we only paid for the car (£8) as we had free entrance as National Trust members. I didn't expect much as we visited in early April but there was very little to see. The bridge to the Japanese garden was closed and we weren't given any other directions by the gardener working there. The cafe is ugly with plain tables and chairs. Some of the bench seats had big slashes down them. I'm surprised they haven't been repaired as it would be difficult to sit on them. The cakes/biscuits on show could be better presented as they didn't look appetising. The shop caters much more for children which surprised me as I'm sure it attracts more adults. The garden shop was tiny, nothing much worth buying. I expected much more.‬

‪I went into the Gardens at Tatton Park this week and my review is for the Gardens - not the public park.
I can only award this 2* for 2 reasons.
1. The gardens are looking very tired and needs a major refresh. Even the Japanese garden is looking shabby by comparison to other similar gardens (Bridgewater, Kew, Bisley...). Maybe they are struggling for funding and/or staff post COVID but it creates the impression of a park that is past its prime!
2. At £8/adult, it is overpriced - plus I take exception to any venue that charges for parking (another £8) in addition to the entry fee. We spent about 1.5 hours there which makes the parking fee more than I would pay in central London! They should include the parking charge in the entry fee so that the cost is transparent.
I won't be going back.‬
