A really lovely little building with a nicely kept back garden. It was very old and quaint. The size is deceiving there are quite a few rooms and a small tea shop that sells snacks, crisps, chocolate etc. It’s obviously all run by volunteers, the gentleman on the main desk was very enthusiastic and knew lots of info. Lots of interesting stuff in the museum. Def worth a visit. A small car park next door, I parked up easily.

I was thoroughly impressed with the Hinckley & District Museum, I would have spent longer there if not for them needing to shut the doors at closing time.
Being able to learn more about local history was a treat in itself. Being able to see and touch (some of) the artefacts was an absolute pleasure. As you would expect from its outside aesthetic, the building itself is quaint and charming, as is the accompanying garden.
I don't wish to spoil any of the hidden attractions inside, however, I can assure you that the staff made the visit all the more special. They were incredibly friendly, and knowledgeable and made us all feel welcome.
I haven't a single negative thing to say, I would have enjoyed a peek behind the unauthorized access door mind you.
I will inevitably return again, if not just for the wonderful tea and friendly faces. Even with the entry fee and tea combined, it's still cheaper than costa.

Excellent. Period house a short walk away from the town centre Saturday is market day so you can combine the two. Museum has small garden. Lovely history of the town.

I went there just after the car show a couple weeks ago. A lovely building holding onto history of Hinckley. Nice little cafe in the back that is very good value. Staff are extremely friendly. I loved the PowerPoint video of Hinckley now and what it used to look like. unfortunately I didn't have enough time to watch it also I hope they could put it until platform like YouTube so I can watch it all the way through.

This is a small museum with many different displays which alter each year. Regular events in summer for children, including dressing up in costumes. Very informative re. the local area. When we were there the local Salvation Army band and singers gave a presentation in the lovely cottage garden. This added a great atmosphere to a display in the Museum about the local Salvation Army. All on a beautiful, sunny August Sunday with refreshments on hand too.

A variety of displays, some changed regularly. Very interesting displays, particularly relating to local social and industrial history.

I actually ended up here by accident as I thought it was a local Wetherspoons and I quite fancied the Wednesday curry specials and an orange juice. I was surprised to discover it was in fact a building dating back to 1600 with some really old stuff in which is important.
At first I thought the staff were rude when i asked a question about a roman artefact but it turns out she was visiting from Bakewell in Derbyshire.
Got locked in the toilet for a good 20 minutes but apart from that, a really nice afternoon.

We have been there with friend meuseam look around nice clean we talk to staff very polite friendly they explain so around building was nice

It's a very interesting museum only cost £1.It had local information about what happened in hinckley in the past . The Romans introf used take away food to Britain and also houses built today were intrinduced by the Romans
