‪Fifty mile round trip to the museum which the website says is open, notice by the door to say that it is closed until next Thursday. Hate to give it a 1 out of 5 mark when it may be fabulous inside but surely, when you knew some time in advance that it was to be closed for a while over the holiday period, this should have been clearly stated on the website. We shall give it another go and hope to enjoy what others are saying is very enjoyable experience.‬

‪For worshipers of Maggie Thatcher or Grantham Football Club, this museum is a must visit. Those visitors expecting to learn about the local WW1 Machine Gun
Corps training camp will be VERY disappointed! The training camp was situated less than 2 miles from the museum on land now occupied by the Belton Park Golf
Club. Thousands of young Tommies trained there before being sent to fight, many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice. As Sir Tony Robinson and the Time Team
discovered while excavating the site of the camp, there is precious little evidence to show that the camp ever existed. All the more reason to have it featured
in the local museum, permanently. When I visited in early July 2021, there was not one item, not one photograph, not a single word relating to the camp. Disgraceful! I
challenge the directors of the museum to complete the following: "At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, ..................."‬

‪Nice building located on the high St. Small museum but free, With good displays, and themes that regularly change. Staff are friendly and helpful. No dedicated parking, but free on the road outside for half hour.‬

‪Had read about the museum and decided to visit especially with the history of Isaac Newton and Margaret Thatcher. Apart from the area showing the Mrs Thatcher exhibits there isn't much else to see. There is a nice little cafe area and bookcases with second hand books for sale. The staff are very helpful and as it is free to visit it is worth popping in to have a look,‬

‪We came from Bradford to visit Grantham as we are making our way through Cities steeped in British history and This museum quite frankly put alot to shame. The effort put in by staff to help remember people from our history, especially those from Grantham itself, was shown throughout.
Alot on WW2 is seen in this museum and me and my partner had the most amazing experience of overhearing an elderly man react to the exhibition.
There we were reading the information plaques about the soldiers in WW2 and in he came with a woman who read aloud the plaque behind us to him. We then heard him agreeing with the woman as she spoke, him saying "oh yes, thats right. Thats what would happen" and i got so emotional . It hit me how soecial little museums like this mean to the people who served in the war and lived during this time.
This museum has done a great job of preserving Granthams history and educating people who live there aswell as those who dont.
I would 100% go back, it was free, but we loved it so much we left a £10 donation.
Please go and see!‬

‪Superb little gem in Grantham, run mostly by volunteers. Situated on the main shopping street, it’s clean, tidy, friendly, knowledgable. Little cafe serves simple drinks, biscuits and there’s a tiny gift shop.
I spent an hour looking round, things are laid out neatly with plenty of information. Kids have things to look at and do...interactive areas were fun and well thought out.‬

‪Came here by accident as we were looking for the library and across the front of this building in big letters it says Public Library - it's not, the library is across the road this is now just a mediocre museum. Best bit was a little display of an apothecary shop. We went upstairs to view "The Globe" which was part of the Gravity Fields festival, that was OK, but needed captions on the pictures so you could work out what you were looking at. Stayed for a 'talk' (but had to go next door to buy tickets at the Guildhall (why)? Talk was OK, speaker was German and a little difficult to understand and I disagreed with many of her conclusions, she needs more research and more experience of giving talks.
We arrived looking for the Isaac Newton exhibit and explained this to the museum manager who showed us there own (modest) Newton display - she claimed she knew nothing about any other exhibition which we had made special arrangements to visit before it opened - as a manger I would have expected her to know what other events were happening as part of the festival‬
