Went for a dog walk along the sea front. Such beautiful views and extremely clean. Would of been better if it hadn't rained but that's just British weather and I certainly don't blame seaham for it.

Free car parking at the sculpture of the soldier in the square around it. Marina to the right beach walks to the left. The marina is worth a visit after a walk on the beach, certainly in March to find a coffee purveyor to warm up (Mr Jacob sweet emporium only £1.50 a cup).

Never been here and we wasn't disappointed!!
Lovely place right by the beach.
Lovely beach with lots of rock pools to explore and plenty of parking on the sea front.
Lovely walk along the beach 🏖 even though it was chilly!!
Local shops not far away and so nice to walk along the promenade!!
Hope to be back again soon!!!!!🏖🏖🏖🏖.

Came to look for sea glass as it is seemingly one of the best beaches to find it. Sadly the tide was coming in so we didn't see as much as I was imagining. Managed to get a small batch however as we walked along the stoney beach. Nice walk though

What a beautiful beach. They call is the ‘Glass Beach’ and they’re not wrong. You can walk for miles, and there’s lots of things to see (caves, views, sea glass). Will be coming back for sure.

Came just before Xmas. First time I’ve ever ever seen snow right up to the sea. It’s a cute little walk, nice shops and eateries

We love coming to Seaham a reclaimed beach on the site of an old bottle factory. Free parking to the north with a lovely cafe and toilets and only a short walk into Seaham for fish and chips at Downeys and icecream at Dreams.

Clean and atmospheric. Good parking but a few steps to get down to the beach. Plenty of space for a run or walk. Worth a trip followed by a visit to Downey's fish and chips and the small marine and shops.

Lovely area for a warm summers day out...
Free ( limited parking ) which is always a bonus, clean area with beach and grassed areas with bench seating.
Plenty of shops, cafe's and coffee shops to chose from. The only issue is the actual beach is way below everything else, and although there is walkways, if you have mobility problems, its ok going down hill but not so good trying to get back up hill.

Does anyone know when if the cafe is reopening on the 2nd. Thinking more for the toilets. Also do you need to book or turn up early? Coming here from Preston on the 4th for a birthday picnic/surprise.

As I recall there are ramps all the way down to the beach from the free parking area but not so sure about going onto the beach itself especially if in a wheelchair as it is quite shingly. Hope this helps?

Can someone tell me how to access chemical beach. I parked at Nose point but only saw access for blast beach .

Hi, Dogs are allowed all year round. Indeed if you are willing to walk say one or two miles you will come across beaches where your dog will be able to not just get of lead, but explore small caves, sniff around trees to their hearts content and you will be totally alone.

Hi. Can you tell me if the tide cuts of the beach in Seaham and also is it a safe swimming beach? Also are the steps the only way onto the beach? I was trying to count them as I can only walk with 2 crutches!

There are two points of access to Seaham beach where there are no or very few steps.If you can park on the main road in front of the houses I am pretty sure that one of the access points down to the promenade is a steep ramp.Further towards the Hall Sands end there is a hairpin bend .At the bottom of the bend there is easier access to the promenade where fishermen access the promenade with their cars.Having accessed the promenade.if you turn left towards Sunderland , at the end of the promenade there is a ramp onto the beach."I don't recommend taking your car onto the beach. Nor do I recommend taking a car onto the promenade at high tide as the waves can come over the top of the promenade complete with pebbles"If you walk on the damp sand it is firmer than the dry sand but a good portion of the beach has lots of big pebbles on.As for swimming ,I have swam in the sea there many times over the years along with hundreds of others.However I stress that you TAKE EXTREME CARE as depending on how far the tide is in and how rough the tide is, it can be DANGEROUS and some rocks can be submerged.

Sorry only just seen this. Up,into town where there are lots of good places to eat and drink. Lickerty split for ice cream. All are operate the statue of Tommy which is awesome.
