We took a group of scouts from Ireland to the Venture Centre and we couldn’t recommend it highly enough. The instructors were so friendly and encouraging. They couldn’t have been more accommodating!
We did high ropes, canoeing, Dinghy sailing, cross bow shooting, the assault course, axe throwing, gorge walking, climbing, abseiling, crate stacking and air rifle shooting over the course of three days. The facilities are incredible and the activities are very well set up and run. Thank you Simon and the team, our scouts made memories that will last a lifetime!

If you want to take your group of children (Sports team, scout group, school, special needs group) away for a trip/tour, this is the place to bring them.
Simon, Mike, Ali, Chef Alex, Rocky, Andy, Winston,Ollie, Dan and the rest of this amazing family run team whose names I’ve sadly forgotten are incredible.
The facility offers you no frills teenage proof accommodation with large dorms and separate rooms for Adults. They provide transport from ferry to centre (even monitoring arrival times so you don’t have to update them if you are delayed) and to all activities. Food is plentiful and seemed to go down well. The centre is located away from potential distractions and safety issues.
The team’s website makes planning and informing parents easy, the kit list is comprehensive (ensure the required spare shoes and trousers are packed!) all activities risk assessments are freely available.
Our 13/14yr old rugby players were challenged and knackered by the range of activities. For down time there’s WiFi, plenty of sockets, a pool table, basketball hoop, plenty of room outside and if you’re as lucky as us a football for entertainment (genuine star of the show for the lads, go figure?!) AND a tuck shop so bring cash.
If you want no stress organisation and a memorable trip for a group. This place is all you need. There’s a good chance we’ll be back and we’ll be bringing more!

A Youth rugby tour to the Isle of Man, stayed in this location in dorms, bunk beds and dorm en-suites, nice and clean, sufficient for the tour for us.
Large outside space under a marquee with picnic benches, dining area with kitchen and chefs!! Plenty of free tea and coffee 24hrs, large fridge with various available milk. Great cooked breakfast with yogurts, fresh porridge, toast, hot cross buns and varied daily. Lunches were quality pizza with curly fries, fresh donuts, pasta with toppings and also a baked potato with chilli or other salads and tuna and cheese toppings.
Very accommodating family run business. Picked us up and returned to/from the port in Douglas, safely driven to the centre. Also driven to rugby matches and lovely staff who were friendly and informative also. The TT hairpin in a mini bus was great!!!
The games rooms above the dining space had large sofas and plenty of window seats and a pool table and lots of various board games and books to choose from. 10 minute walk to the beach if you wanted also.
On site included basketball hoop, archery, axe throwing, air rifle gun shooting, high ropes access section, crossbow, gorge walking, lots of water sports also like canoeing / kayaking etc also.
Great quiet place with lots to do. WiFi on site and some 3G/4G in places randomly also. If wanting late door, as did our lads, just eat delivered to site from Ramsey which was 2 Miles away.

The partner and I stayed at the centre for a weekend (Fri-Mon).
The site manager (owner) informed myself which room we would be staying within.
Upon arrival, the key was in the door with my name on the window.
I asked if it was possible to change from a two bunk bed room to a twin room. The owner happily granted our request.
The first thing I do upon arrival at any accommodation is check the bathroom. The room is en-suite and both the bathroom and shower were lovely. If you wish to work the shower, you simply push in the button. No complications like many other accommodations.
There is only a bus stop on the inbound to Douglas side of the road, however the majority of the drivers going outbound from Douglas will stop at the top of scarffs ridge road. The owner has been pleading with the local authorities to fix the issue. The centre is under 1km from the mentioned bus stop.
The world's oldest and longest operating train, the Manx Electric Railway (MER) passes the centre. The train hut is at the bottom of the hill (maximum 100 yards). The stop is called Lewaigue and is a double sided stop. There is a peacock at the bottom of the hill that is not used to people. I accidentally frightened the timid creature. Be careful.
We will permitted to use the cutlery, fridge freezer and we basically had the whole centre to ourselves. The owners son kindly drove us to the local bus station (Ramsey) as the partner suffers from COPD. The owners son is very friendly, although he seemed surprised that Northern Ireland has a lot of crimes. Different quality of life, I guess.
The other employee, keen surfer is also very informative and chatty. The price is very reasonable indeed and, although there were a couple of things that could have been better, I do not believe they are enough to remove from the rating.

We brought 16 scouts from Ireland to the Venture Centre. Can't reccomend it highly enough. The scouts had a ball. The staff are just unbelievable, so invested in the kids fun and enjoyment. Nothing is too much bother for these guys. Great accommodation, plenty of good food, so many activities to choose from. Best I've visited.

Cozy & warm rooms, fantastic activities, good food and very professional staff.
Ours was a school trip from Ireland. We had great fun, enjoyed the stay, all the amazing activities, the food and the chats with the friendly staff there.
Everything worked perfectly during our 3 days stay. The staff is experienced, competent and convivial.
The Centre provided us with a lift from and to the airport, to Ramsey etc.
Visiting the IOM without our means of transport proved to be, not only feasible, but pleasant with the Venture Centre.
One last note, celiac and vegan-friendly too! We highly recommend the Venture Centre. We will be back!

Super helpful and friendly. Really helped us out and looking forward to visiting and doing some activities when my youngest is a bit older!

Great afternoon out for two 15 year olds. Luke really looked after them and got right on their level very quickly which instilled confidence and got them interested in doing the challenges which were very well designed at different.
Hi wire, assault course, tunnels and air guns were all brilliant and safely done

Celebrating Tracy's birthday. Brilliant yet again. Abseiling off maughold and rifle shooting. Mike was so patient with us. Thank you, will be back again if you'll have us. Oh, breakfast was the bees knees x

Part of a group of 6 families that booked for an overnight stay with activities included. The kids were aged between 8 and 14.
Started with gorge walking which was action packed - I was fairly confident, but felt as well looked after as the nervous kids and adults were. We were all looked after by the instructors and made to feel safe on all occasions , yet pushing yourself to your own limits. The kids then went off and did the high ropes and the instructors again made them feel confident with their abilities and empowered them. They all came back buzzing. Adult males did the shooting and archery whilst the females went on a walk down to the beach. The next day was even more action packed with coasteering first and then the adults turn to do the high ropes whilst the kids did the shooting and assault course. Coasteering was amazing and the instructors really know their stuff. It was amazing jumping in to the sea and swimming to the next rocks to climb over. Instructors really do engage with you all and make you feel extremely comfortable and confident - the kids did amazing thanks to the advice and help from the instructors and the team of the VC. We all thoroughly enjoyed it.
Accommodation was standard but extremely adequate and comfortable. We knew it wasn’t 4 star , the rooms were dorms , and each family had their own room. You’re so tired after a full day you just need to sleep and I slept well. Rooms are clean, warm with a separate toilet to the hot shower. We had access as a group to our own kitchen and rec area which just added to a great couple of days having fun with the kids. They enjoyed the pool, table tennis and the freedom in the evening.
Ordered takeaways from Ramsey for the evening meal which came in time and was delicious.
Something different to do, but a totally amazing fun packed time , kids enjoyed it all and the adults did just as much. Cannot wait to book again. Thanks again to the staff who were fab hosts.
