I have limited mobility and use crutches to walk with so found all the steps down to the boat to embark and disembark extremely hazardous ,there is a hand rail all the way down ,however some of our
Fellow passengers were in a hurry to embark and I got pushed quite a bit but once at the boat both the captain Vincent and the bosun Kevin were
on hand to help me on board along with my family.
Once aboard the captain gave us a lot of information about the area,tide’s,history,geology and wild life information,in a very unique way making it easy to understand.. it was very clear and he was extremely knowledgeable . He found some seals and positioned the boat to allow us to watch them for some considerable time .
In all this was a brilliant 2 hours for our family and the family dog. It helped that the weather was
Lovely for a day in late October . Both captain and bosun were friendly and professional always considering our safety.

Brilliant experience with great views and amazing geology. This informative pleasure cruise was a perfect way to spend the afternoon. The crew were knowledgeable and funny !

Amazing crew who had excellent customer care and great knowledge about the local area. They made the experience fun and allowed us to soak in the moment.

We really enjoyed our trip on the Ilfracombe Princess, SkipperVince was very friendly and Kev too, was very informative, beautiful views of the coastline. Highly recommend to any holiday makers.

We did the 1.5-hour trip eastward to just beyond the Great Hangman and back. By the end it was really 2 hours.
The weather was good, the seas were just lively enough to provide a fun seafaring experience without being ridiculous.
The views along the coast were stunning. I’ve walked along the top of these cliffs on the coast path but to see them from the sea was a whole new dimension.
The jewel of the trip, though, was Captain Vince. He clearly enjoys his work and had the perfect mix of nautical, geologic, historical and cultural knowledge, delivered with great humor and enthusiasm. A real character, generous with his time and conversation, just the type of person I enjoy meeting in my travels.
We chose the Ilfracombe Princess because it was the biggest boat, it has a top deck, rear deck and inside as well, so lots of options for seating and standing ( when advisable).
If I ever come back to Ilfracombe, I’ll do another tour on the Princess.

A nice boat trip along the coast with an entertaining commentary about local "history", although the embellishment and takes of hundreds of people killed by wreckers, and boats lured onto the rocks and crews murdered did make me laugh. Also the stories of all the boats sinking within sight of Bristol as they entered the (slightly) desalinated water of the Severn and how this led to the plimsoll line on ships was also entertaining... perhaps a little embellishment is all part of this trip. Think I would have preferred history over fantasy and legend! Was a lovely coastal trip if you've got nothing to do in Ilfracombe for an hour and a half though.
I would make one suggestion... perhaps the crew member "Bosun Kevin" with Wildlife Tours printed on the back of his shirt could refrain from flicking his cigarette butts straight into the harbour.... I'm sure the wildlife in Ilfracombe bay would thank him for it.

We went on the Ilfracombe princess on Bank Holiday Monday. Booking was easy, collected tickets easily and the staff were super helpful with getting us on and off the boat (mobility issues). The trip was fine, there was a talk but sadly none of us could hear it all only key words. Think it would have made the trip slightly more interesting if we could have heard the commentary.

Incredible trip with informative commentary showing how much the skipper loves the north Devon coastline and making us want to go and explore all the little coves in more depth. Great to see the seals lounging on the rocks too and a bonus appearance of some sun fish towards the end.

Had the best outing on the Ilfracombe Princess for my mum’s 88th birthday.
Despite having trouble finding somewhere to park in Ilfracombe (would recommend in high season 1.5hrs before boat departure) the boat waited an extra 5 mins for me to cross town to join mum & the family, and gave me a much needed water on arrival! I then enjoyed cooling off with the sea wind and calming music on board for 1.5hrs.
Mum had a fab time being spoilt when they found out it was her birthday and getting the whole boat to sing ‘happy birthday’ to her. We also thoroughly enjoyed the banter and humour on the journey from “Sophie & Daphne” - not to mention their skill as proper boatmen, navigating the waves and rocks and being very informative. Thank you thank you!

We are advising everybody to book online to reduce connection the the harbour.
