Hesketh Park is a lovely park to have walk in. The lake is nice with fountains in the centre and the swans and ducks are lovely to watch. The park has a lovely observatory set on a hill, there are lovely trees. There is cafe where you can purchase refreshments.

I loved our visit to this park! I wish we lived closer so we could go more often. Lovely winding paths and lots to explore. Fab playground and a good cafe with nice coffee! We all had a great time!

An extensive historic public park featuring a lake, rose garden, a wide range of mature trees, and a network of paths. The park also features an astronomical observatory and a Victorian conservatory that are occasionally open to the public.

Hesketh park a must on any day to Southport, it is a large park with plenty of things for you and the kids to do

If you look for nice park to walk, rest or time to be with yourself - this place is what you need.

Went to this park for the first time today -- a thoroughly happy experience. Far more extensive than I thought, the variety of trees were sight to see.
Totally recommend this park for a peaceful time - or a place to take your kids to as it has a great play area near a good cafe.

Such a shame that this park is a little run down. In its hay day it must have been a wonderful place.
We had a walk round the lake and watched the swans, ducks and moorhens. Then watched 2 rats one swimming the other scurrying around looking for food.

We walked around Southport and this park is lovely - went for lunch at seafront pub after - spot on day - love southport

It is winter, so we wrapped up warm.
There are daffodils and snowdrops already😊.
A stroll around the lake, for us, included reading the plaques on the many well-placed benches.
The fountains in the lake provided a nostalgic sound, in the background.
Supervised children ran and climbed in the well-equipped, fenced-off play area.
The crazy golf stood waiting for spring.
The cosy cafe was open!
We plan to return with grandchildren in the summer. Thank you, Southport!

A delightful park that has seen better days, it sadly, as so many parks these days, hasn't been best maintained for a good few years, but it's bones are very good... a delightful Victorian palm house, lakes, fountains and crazy golf, all of which can be enjoyed through meandering walks through a gently undulating tree rich landscape.
With greater investment this could be a real gem, but nonetheless it's still well worth a visit.
