We were driving by & come upon this historical site. Beautiful, calm. The church is an active church with not many parishioners so donating is important! A new grave is there, a young family member of the clan.

While in Killin we learned that Rob Roy’s grave was not far away and that we could see it on the way to Stirling. It wasn’t hard to find and the old Kirk and cemetery were really interesting. A nice visit! Bring some cash for the donation box, they rely on donations to maintain the old Kirk.

I liked it, liked how they haven't messed about with it. Church was shut (I assume a Covid thing), we rode from Lochearnhead on the No 7 cycle path - last bit on the road - a lovely excuse for a bike ride. Arguably, it's "just a grave", but it's in a lovely location and gives a sense of history and has a lovely path up the back to a little bridge over a waterfall. Went to Mhor84 for lunch afterwards.

Followed the signs down a pretty narrow road. Arrived at a lovely little church and read the signs which said that it may, or may not, be the site of Rob Roys grave...nothing else to do around the area

Off the beaten track but the view from this ancient church was quite something.
The church was not open for visiting when we arrived on a Monday afternoon but we sat on a bench overlooking the serenity of the countryside setting.

We were so impressed that this area had not been turned into some over the top visitor attraction.
It's a graveyard after all. Anyone with a phone can do research.
The tomb stones have markings on them and he is buried with his wife Magy (Helen), and sons Coll & Robert.

Visited here on our way home. Definitely worth a visit but some information on the clans would be beneficial, one notice board in at the start of the graveyard didn’t really tell you much! Worth a visit

More information available on the history of Rob Roy. Very limited and disappointed as not an easy drive to get too. This is a national icon and was disappointed at lack of information available

When driving up into the Highlands on the A84 from Callander to Killin we took a moment to stop to pay homage to Robert MacGregor a.k.a Rob Roy, whose resting place was clearly signposted along the way. Lovely graveside by an old kirk in the cemetery of Balquhidder parish church. Leave a few coins for the upkeep of the area and drink in the views. As Wordsworth said in his poem Rob Roy:
“...Then clear the weeds from off his Grave,
And let us chant a passing stave,
In honour of that Hero brave!..”

If you like history like myself if you watch movies with Rob Roy then you need to come and watch his grave.
