Went with my adult son, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and as we were the only ones there felt like a personal tour. We went to see the art works after seeing the Haddo Madonna on TV but left wanting ro know more about the Gordan Family. We especially enjoyed learning about the families philanthropic ventures. The house itself though grand still had a homely feel, the Chapel is particularly beautiful and the cafe offers a fine of cup of tea and lunch items. Definitely would highly recommend and will likely return after learning more about the family and to explore the grounds on a warmer day.

We have been visiting the beautiful country park here for more than twenty years. It is lovely all year round with lots to see and it's especially good fun for families with younger children. The NTS café is very good as is Mrs Smith's. We often take along birdseed and sometimes the birds in the sensory garden might feed from your hand. There are lots of paths to take and we love to walk around the lake. However, today was the first time we took a tour of the House and it was amazing! Charlie, our guide, gave us so much fascinating information about the house and the family over the years and I know she had a lot more to tell, so I am definitely tempted to go back for another tour!

We have visited the gardens many times before but we opted for the guided tour of the house today. £2 for parking is very reasonable. The cafe is also well priced.
We were the only 2 on the tour and were a bit apprehensive however our tour guide, Gillian, was superb. Her knowledge of a complicated and extensive family tree was really good. The whole tour of the house was informative and very interesting. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Currently, you can only visit Haddo House by guided tour, so best to check the tour times before you visit. The National Trust guide was informative, with lots of stories about the house and plenty of opportunity to ask questions. The house is chilly though, so wrap up warmly!
The grounds are still showing the aftermath of Storm Arwen with hundreds of felled trees. Paths were muddy, so wear walking shoes. It’s a pleasant walk around the lake.

There was only two of us on the morning tour of the house so it basically turned into a private tour! Charlotte was fantastic and her knowledge of the estate and the family was outstanding. We were sad to hear that the house itself doesn’t get many visitors outside events, and that people only tend to come for the park and the gardens! If you’re there please make the time to take part of a tour, you will not regret it!

What a gem of a place. Charlotte, the National Trust volunteer gave us what turned out to be a personal tour. What she didn't know about the house and its occupants wasn't worth knowing. She was fantastic, she explained everything. The place is fascinating and off the beaten track. Forget castles this house has so much history and is fully furnished. A must visit in the NT for Scotland tick list. We will be returning in the summer when the gardens are in full bloom.

Visited Haddo House and its beautiful formal gardens on Tuesday this week. Paid just £2.00 in the Pay and Display and enjoyed a couple of hours exploring the gardens and grounds in the lovely warm, autumn sunshine. Took loads of photos and my visit here more than made up for my disappointment of not being able to visit Pitmedden Gardens that is just down the road (see my review). The Scots Mile is reminiscent of the Long Walk at Windsor Castle and worth a walk to see the lake with ducks and geese, as well as the large urn and deer statues at the top of the mile. Didn't go inside the house (not sure if it was open at time) but it was the formal gardens I was there to see and they didn't disappoint. A lovely way to spend the afternoon and well worth a visit.

Haddo is always a must when we’re in Aberdeenshire. It’s a lovely place for walks on the grounds, a sit down at the tearoom, or guided tour in the house.
We want to give a big shoutout to Liz for lovely chats in the gift shop, and great tourist recommendations around Aberdeenshire.
We had a great guided tour with Charlie, and it’s nice to learn the history about the house.
We’ll be back many times, and highly recommend!

We had a lovely time here. From the lady in the shop/ticket office to her husband one of the guides everyone was friendly and helpful.The house itself is well worth a visit - it is a really interesting portal into the lives of the Aberdeen Lords, who were on familiar terms with Queen Victoria, Gladstone and others. And the house is full of treasures from that time, which illustrate their lives and the lives of those who worked for them. The use of the House as a hospital during the war is particularly interesting since it was used also as a maternity unit and lots of "Haddo babies"we're born there.
The cafe is great and the gardens and grounds are an attraction in themselves.

The Country park is a wonderful mixture of woodland , lakes , statues , playparks and paths to explore all year round, its well layed out and though some of the upper paths can be muddy in wet weather a family can get to most of the areas of interest with buggies and bikes, A place to come and explore all year round.
