Our group of friends went to Cavinti last August 10-11,2019. We stayed at Villa Estelle for our overnight accomodation. On the morning of August 11, we started our way going to Cavinti Falls/Pagsanjan Falls by trekking,rapelling and conquering the long metal ladder just to see the beauty of the falls. The trek was enjoyable being with friends, it was tiring but fun. The rapelling in a 90degree vertical ladder was a bit heart pounding but amazing. I want to recommend this type of way going to the famous Cavinti/Pagsanjan Falls to the person who always seeks for an adventure.

If you don't want to pay P1,400 for the rapids tour you could go hiking to reach Pagsanjan Falls for only P270 from El Salvador Eco Park. Just make sure you can tolerate heights. You hike down for about 20 - 30 mins, returning could take 45mins to an hour. If you don't want to hike back you can hire boats to get you a scenic tour another P350 they'll drop you off Bumungan Eco park (tricycle from Bumbungan Eco park back to El Salvador is P400 (good for 4 - 5 people). The entrance fee of that park is P20.00 only.

My son and his friends went to the Pagsanjan/Cavinti Falls last August 2015 and found the attraction awesome but quite expensive(especially for local tourists). They were even harassed into paying some more "fees" for which no receipt was given. Enter 2016 and the family decided to try to go there via the Cavinti route which according to bloggers was more price friendly at Php270 per person (as compared to Php1500++/per person) via the Pagsanjan route. El Pueblo Ecopark was about 2.5hours drive from Bacoor Cavite via the South Luzon Expressway passing by the new route using the short cut in Ayala Greenfields which by-passes some of the traffic prone roads in Pansol/Los Banos with stops for supplies and breakfast It was quite easy to find just follow the main highway (along the bus route) to Pagsanjan town & turn right when you reach the big Catholic Church in Pagsanjan.
Taking the Cavinti route takes you to the falls via steeply-inclined steel ladders that are built along the cliff of the mountain. It's a quite a workout and will surely test your fitness level. Bring along a 500ml water supply because there are no drinking or eating facilities enroute or at the falls. There are guides that help/accompany you along the way.It's recommended to go there early (cut-off time is at 3PM) as it takes about an hour down and a bit more on the upward return. Don't hurry on the return. After entering the falls you can swim along the river and have a few relaxing time before climbing up.There are very few restos in Cavinti so bring along some things to snack on. The restos are in Pagsanjan yet. Hopefully the town of Cavinti can have a better launching point (less strenuous to the visitors) because the potential is really there. No need to look far - look at Pagsanjan!

If you are not for paying a thousand pesos to see the Pagsanjan Falls (also known as Cavinti Falls and Magdapio Falls), then this is the best route. For only 270 per person, you get to trek, rappel and raft through the falls. The view is really awesome and the trek manageable. It would just be quite a challenge going back up. But it's worth every penny paid.
