La villa circondata da un bellissimo giardino all'inglese si trova nella frazione di Loveno , attualmente la villa è sede del centro italo - tedesco ed ospita convegni , seminari e manifestazioni ; aperta al pubblico per visita il suo parco solo giovedì pomeriggio previa prenotazione .

This exquisite Italian villa on the hillside above Menaggio has a remarkable history to learn about, a view over Lake Como to die for, and is a cultural centre for Germanic/Italian studies. Amongst other featured courses, they offer German language courses from time to time. The lovely hamlet of Loveno is a perfect location to wander around; lanes with ancient homes, parklands, fields and rivers, plus of course the parish church of Sts. Lorenzo and Agnes. All this and the lovely Villa Myllus Vigoni to discover once the Corona virus crisis is behind us. I really hope you enjoy it!

Εξαιρετικό, πολιτισμένο περιβάλλον, στη Villa και στον κήπο! Η θέα προς τη λίμνη και τα πέριξ ...θύμιζε την ταινία "a room with a view" και ότι at least some had a view.

La Villa è stata lasciata in eredità da Don Ignazio Vigoni al Governo Tedesco. Essa viene utilizzata come centro culturale: si organizzano convegni e corsi di tedesco

This is a private villa. Should you choose to do a tour, it happens on Thursday afternoons at 12:30, goes for approx 2 hours and costs €10 per person. While the talk is extensive, there really is not a great deal to see. In the villa visitors are guided through 3 rooms, the mausoleum, and given a very short time to wander through the gardens. Visitors interested in the Italian-German cultural connection would enjoy a tour.

So a rich aristocrat from yesteryears bought a beautiful piece of land and made it into a private villa and built a beautiful garden. This is now a conference venue and not really for tourists in menaggio to just stroll into.
TripAdvisor has this venue as a “must do” here, as people review this as a 5 star 🌟 and that’s really not the case. Entry is by invitation on only (coz it’s not even a hotel).
Just like you don’t review your rich friends horse race track just coz he invited you, don’t write reviews for this place as if it’s a tourist attraction.
We were left mildly annoyed as the strenuous walk up lead to nothing. The walk is beautiful though!

We visited this rather beautiful villa but were only taken to 3 rooms and were allowed to have 20 minutes in the garden. We felt a little persona non grata. I do understand that it is a conference venue but it would have been lovely to have been able to wander a little in the gardens.
I would recommend that if you do take the C10 bus from Menaggio, you take the bus for the full distance (about an hour) and then get off on the way back down for the Villa Vigoni. The views of the Lake from the bus are stunning.

Die Villa ist im Normalfall nur eine Stunde pro Woche für eine Stunde geöffnet und kann nur mit Führung besichtigt werden.
Wir schauen uns gerne so Gärten an und fotografieren dann auch gerne. Im September 2017 waren wir am Comer See und haben die Villa Vigoni besucht.
Die Führung war sehr angenehm und sehr individuell – der Guide hat sich viel Mühe gegeben auch wenn er nicht mit tiefgehendem Wissen glänzen konnte.
Die Villa ist sehr gepflegt und wir regelmäßig für Seminare und Konferenzen genutzt.
Was für uns das Beeindruckende war ist der Garten. Superschöne, gepflegte Anlage mit einem tollen Blick über die Stadt auf den See.
Die Pflanzen sind vielfällig und interessant. Es blieb auch während des Rundgangs immer mal wieder Zeit um Bilder zu schießen.
Der Preis für den Eintritt und die Führung ist mit 10 Euro in Ordnung.
