Stopped for a short walk around. Not much there, but access to the Rio Grande and an abandoned building. Apparently it was used in several movies in years past. Scenery is gorgeous as you drive 170 from Lajitas to Persidio.

This old movie site is right on Highway 170 west of Lajitas. It's worth a look at what was a saloon in several westerns a few decades ago. Stop by if you're passing through.

This is near the river, There is one building left and was used in the Contrabando movie, and Brooks and Dunn has it in their My Maria video.

I was travelling through Big Bend with a teenager who really wanted to see this place, so we came out here to look. I wanted to see the State Park after the BBNP so we checked in at the information center by Lajitas and headed out. The State Park itself is glorious and full of dramatic landscapes. I wish I'd had more time to see it. This place is an interesting stop, but if you miss it, you didn't miss the best of the Park. It does have a restroom. If you are driving through this area, stopping for a toilet is something you should do.

I wouldn't drive out of your way to visit this site but it's a cool spot to stop if you are driving past. The whole area is beautiful but the river, the buildings and surrounding red rocks make it a lovely setting with good photo opportunities. We were the only ones there and it was so peaceful to escape from the road for 30 minutes and to breath in the fresh air.

We stopped for a quick look here at the buildings and ended up staying and playing along the nice bank of the Rio Grande. It is a really lovely spot to explore and would make a great picnic or snack spot.

There are two buildings left at this area, one converted into a restroom with chemical toilet. There is sign explaining the area, but it is very weathered/degraded.

Beautiful old movie site. Several old set buildings can still be found. One of the most beautiful locations with mountains and river views around the area. Several movie filmed there in the last 20 years- See DEAD MANS WALK.

2 buildings on a half acre "movie set" "main building" is falling down and unimpressive. Other building has been turned into a toilet. Views of the Rio Grande are OK, but better places to look at scenery. There is a pay box. Unless a die hard fan of the movies filmed here would strongly debate even stopping here.

There’s only one building left at the site, but it’s set is a way that makes for a nice photo with the rocks behind it. There’s a picnic table down there and you can see the river. Ok place to snap a photo and stretch your legs. If you’re looking for something more authentic, there are plenty of old crumbling historical stone buildings along the River Road and in Terlingua.
